Man of Steel Trailer: Listen, Superman Has a Lot on His Mind

Finally! After a teaser and the recent poster for the latest Superman installment, a full trailer for Man of Steel is here.

Finally! After a teaser and the recent poster for the latest Superman installment, a full trailer for Man of Steel is here. In this longer look, it's clear that director Zack Snyder's Superman may be the most psychologically burdened version of the icon so far. We meet Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) as a young boy who's perplexed by his superhuman abilities, which aren't helped when his human father (Kevin Costner) advises him to keep that side of himself hidden after he saves a school bus full of classmates. Fast-forward to him as an introspective adult working through his issues (made apparent by his beard and water meditation). He obviously has a way to go before he becomes the flying, red-and-blue suited hero we see by the end of the trailer.

There's so much to see in this preview, like Superman being hauled off in handcuffs (like in the poster), as well as famous characters, though those glimpses are pretty brief. Still, it's exciting to see Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Russell Crowe as Jor-El, and Michael Shannon as villain General Zod. We still have to wait until next June to see the movie, but you can take a look at the new Superman in action after the jump.

See Superman in Handcuffs in the Man of Steel Poster

Uh-oh! A certain superhero is in trouble in the new poster for Man of Steel.

Uh-oh! A certain superhero is in trouble in the new poster for Man of Steel. Henry Cavill's Superman is rocking some handcuffs and looking quite guilty, and the best part is that he's not even in his Clark Kent duds — this Superman is in his full suit with his cuff accessories. We have to wonder, what did he do so wrong? By this and the look of the teaser that came out in July, Man of Steel is looking more and more like it's following in the dark, emotional tone of Christopher Nolan's Batman series (and for good reason; Nolan is an executive producer). The movie comes out June 14, and you can check out a larger version of this poster after the jump.

Here's the First Picture of Henry Cavill as Superman!

Well, this is a big step up from that Entertainment Weekly cover: Warner Bros.

Well, this is a big step up from that Entertainment Weekly cover: Warner Bros. has just released the very first official photo of Henry Cavill from Superman: Man of Steel. Though it's a little dark, it's clear the "steel" theme is in full effect here, and Superman's suit looks closer to that of Andrew Garfield's new Spidey costume than the original tights and undies combo. Still, there's no denying Cavill's dashing superhero looks — or those huge muscles. How do you feel about it?

Do You Like Your Men Strong or Slim?

It's Summer blockbuster time, which means superheros and action stars are stomping, swinging, and flying into a theater near you.

It's Summer blockbuster time, which means superheros and action stars are stomping, swinging, and flying into a theater near you. And as The Daily Beast points out, the leading men are beefier than ever, with meaty Jason Momoa in Conan the Barbarian, a bulked-up Chris Evans in Captain America: The First Avenger, and Chris Hemsworth and his bulging biceps costarring in Thor. But personally, these macho action stars are just meh to me, I'm more interested in next year's slimmer superheroes, like Andrew Garfield (The Amazing Spider-Man) and Henry Cavill (Superman). What do you think? Are you more attracted to a guy who could pick you up without breaking a sweat, or a fella on the smaller side?

Michael Shannon to Villainize Superman As General Zod

Henry Cavill is all set to play the next Superman in Zack Snyder's reboot Man of Steel, and now we have a villain for him to fear: Michael Shannon. The actor will play General Zod, Superman's nemesis, who is from the planet Krypton like the indomitable hero. I had expected that the big casting news for the villain would have been for the part of Lex Luthor, but it looks like Snyder is mixing things up. Now that the cast is really coming together, how do you feel about the latest updates?
