The Independent Spirit Awards rolled into Santa Monica yesterday, bringing a host of famous faces with them. Once the Spirit Awards red carpet wrapped, the stars headed inside for the show, where they mingled in between announcements. Bradley Cooper congratulated Matthew McConaughey on his win for Magic Mike while Jennifer Lawrence celebrated her best female lead statue for Silver Linings Playbook with Jeremy Renner. Amy Poehler shared a laugh with her pal Paul Rudd in the audience, and Zoe Saldana met up with nominee Quvenzhané Wallis backstage.

The 2013 Independent Spirit Awards rolled out the red — make that pink — carpet to welcome a cool crew of starlets, including Kerry Washington, Zoe Saldana, and Salma Hayek, dressed for the LA sunshine (palm trees and beach background included) and an afternoon's worth of honors for the industry's best indie film projects. Among this year's nominees? Silver Linings Playbook's Jennifer Lawrence, who stunned in Lanvin, was up for best actress, and a Stella McCartney-clad Rashida Jones was being recognized for her first screenplay, Celeste and Jesse Forever. The Independent Spirit Awards took place in LA today with stars stepping out ahead of tomorrow's Oscars. Many of award season's biggest names, including Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, walked the pink carpet and, once inside, mingled with other nominees and presenters. Bradley Cooper was in good spirits at the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, CA, today, sporting a stylish three-piece suit. The actor joined Bryan Cranston on the carpet for a pleasant exchange that had both actors laughing, then caught up with his Silver Linings Playbook costar Chris Tucker. Their film is up for several big awards today, including best feature, best screenplay, and best actor for Bradley.

Silver Linings Playbook and Beasts of the Southern Wild are the only best feature nominees that are also up for a best picture Oscar tomorrow. Bradley is also in the running for the Academy's best actor award, and he'll face off with Daniel Day-Lewis, Hugh Jackman, Joaquin Phoenix, and Denzel Washington for the honor.
