Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy play brothers in the moonshine business during the Prohibition era in Lawless. Are you wondering if the period piece is worth venturing into the theater for? Check out our review to find out if you should watch, pass, or rent this drama.
What to Netflix: Weekend Edition!
Usually the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays, but there are a handful of big releases out today so I thought I'd alert you. Today, just like I do each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I'm sorting through the best of the batch to suggest some additions for your queue.
The Duchess
I'm glad this sumptuous movie is out on DVD because it's so beautiful to look at. The costumes in this period drama starring Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes are gorgeous and the rest of the movie is pretty good too.
Knightley plays Georgiana, wife of William Cavendish (Fiennes), the Duke of Devonshire. While their relationship grows bitter in private, Georgiana starts to become quite popular in public and immerses herself in the world of politics and high society. As her husband puts other women between them, Georgiana finds herself falling in love with a young politician, Charles Grey (Dominic Cooper). However, the threat of scandal proves too great for the Duke and Duchess, and a relationship with Charles is forbidden.
Special features include a featurette titled, "Georgiana in Her Own Words," the making of the movie, and a costume diary.

2008 Kids' Choice Awards: And the Kids' Choices Are . . .
Big stars! Lots of slime! Silly good times had by all! It can only mean one thing: Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards were back yet again over the weekend, and I have to say, I'm impressed with the turnout. Big stars walked the orange carpet to promote big films, including Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf, who showed up to get the kids pumped for the return of Indiana Jones.

However, to this crowd of tweens, no one — not even Harrison — could hold a candle to the superstar bonanza that is Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers. Apparently the screams were off the hook (as the kids say) when those acts took the stage. Oh, and then there was the moment when Heidi Klum was hoisted into the air on a cable and, as Reuters put it, "had to pop balloons with spikes attached to the derriere of her jumpsuit." That's fierce.
As for the actual honorees, Cameron Diaz took home the Wannabe Award for being a role model and raising awareness about environmental issues, which is certainly a step up from her previous Kids' Choice Award for burping. To see who else the kids voted for, just read more
The Results Are In: Recast Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Every Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!
Fast Times at Ridgemont High has some fantastic characters, which makes it super fun to recast. This week's recast lists were great — from WhiplashGirlchild's ideas of Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Brad and Hugh Laurie playing Mr. Hand, to hanako66's suggestion of Topher Grace for the part of the slimy Mike. I also thought Seth Rogen would make a great Brad, as was suggested by several people. Tnkrbelli included photos with her recast list, which was very cool. I especially liked her idea of Emile Hirsch playing Jeff Spicoli. He could easily pull off that dazed thing.
Overall, though, my favorite recast list this week comes from joielin! To see who joielin picked, along with a new cast photo, read more
The Results Are In: Recast Back to the Future
Every Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!
This week's recast challenge was a fond favorite for many of you, so I was delighted to see how thoughtful the recast lists were! Some of my favorite ideas include casting Frankie Muniz or Michael Cera as Marty McFly, as both actors have that youthful earnestness.
I also enjoyed many of the suggestions submitted for the character of Doc Brown, such as Steve Buscemi, and emei47's idea of Robert Downey Jr. Finally, selecting who should play the villainous Biff Tannen seemed to be a fun challenge for some of you, and I especially liked BunGirl's pick of Owen Wilson. BunGirl also posted her own cast photo, which I thought was awesome.
However, my favorite recast list this week comes from CocoChic! She wondered if we were casting these characters as teenagers or as adults. Because the actors in the original cast were in their 20s, I went with Coco's younger cast submission. To see who CocoChic picked along some new cast pictures, read more
The Latest Transformers Clip Is Actually Funny

I'm not one who thinks the Transformers movie needs any more promotion, especially since the MTV Awards (a.k.a. All Transformers, All The Time) did a pretty bang-up job with it. However, I'm also not one to pass up something I really get a kick out of, so check out this clip from Transformers in which Shia LeBeouf is genuinely funny. I may be tapped out on Transformers promotion, but I'm still excited to see it.

- Fergie's cover of Heart's "Barracuda" for Shrek the Third sounds so similar to the original song, it's weird. Listen to both versions and judge for yourself.

New Transformers Trailer — Now With More Shia!

A brand-new Transformers trailer hit the Internet yesterday — this time with a lot more Shia LeBeouf mixed in with the cool Transformers action. I didn't know I was part 8-year-old boy, but judging by how excited I am for this movie, I've clearly tapped into something. You can check out the new trailer if you read more
