Miles Teller takes the lead in The Spectacular Now as a hard-partying teen who stops only to admire the beauty of his new love interest, played by Shailene Woodley. Set in a small town, the film (adapted from the popular novel) follows Sutter (Teller) after his girlfriend breaks up with him and he takes a sudden interest in a smart loner from school, Aimee (Woodley). She's not exactly in his crowd or into the same things, but their romance seems to change him for the better. Kyle Chandler, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Jennifer Jason Leigh also star.

I love these two leads in their roles, and I'm especially excited about seeing Teller take on a meatier part after his breakout role in Footloose a couple years ago. The movie got great reviews at Sundance, so I'm looking forward to it finally hitting theaters. The movie opens in limited release on Aug. 2, and until then, you can check out the trailer after the jump.

Production recently began on Divergent, and today we found out one more bit of casting news in the adaptation of Veronica Roth's young adult novel. Tony Goldwyn has been announced as the latest cast member, joining last week's new addition of Ashley Judd as the parents of main character Tris. Tris is played by Shailene Woodley in the film, which will depict a divided society of factions and a teenage girl (Woodley) who discovers she falls into more than one faction. Emma Stone reported to the NYC set of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 today alongside her costar Shailene Woodley. When she wasn't shooting, Emma threw on a long puffer jacket to entertain a young friend with jokes. Emma's focusing on her and Shailene's movie after shifting gears and promoting another film last week. Emma and her The Croods costar Ryan Reynolds made the talk-show rounds to chat up their animated picture, which is out March 22. At yesterday's NYC premiere of The Croods, Ryan made a rare public appearance with his wife, Blake Lively. Emma's own significant other, Andrew Garfield, wasn't seen on the red carpet, but they are nonetheless logging plenty of time together on the Spider-Man set.
