Ben Affleck, One Direction, Gabby Douglas, Seth MacFarlane, E.L. James, and more were all worthy of spots on Barbara Walter's list of The Most Fascinating People of 2012. We look at our favorites in this fascinating PopSugar Rush and tell you who we think deserves to be at the top of the list!
Video: 5 Reasons Why Seth MacFarlane Is a Winning Oscar Host Pick!
If you didn't know what the man behind Family Guy, American Dad, and Ted looked like before, then you definitely will now. The Academy announced today that the animation empire builder as well as comedian, actor, singer, producer, and writer Seth MacFarlane will host the 2013 Oscars on Feb. 24. We've got five reasons why the funnyman deserves this Hollywood honor, and why you should be excited to see his onstage antics, in today's PopSugar Rush.
4 Reasons Seth MacFarlane Is the Perfect Choice to Host the Oscars
Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane is on a roll this year. He's got several TV series on the air, his first live-action feature film was a hit this Summer, and now it has been announced that MacFarlane will host the 2013 Oscars. Not half bad, if you ask me. His Academy Awards hosting gig may seem out of the blue, but MacFarlane is ideal for a job like this.

To hear why I think he'll make a great host, just read more.
Seth MacFarlane Is Hosting the Oscars — Will He Make a Good Host?
Next year's Oscars night will be full of celebration, teary speeches, and . . . Stewie impressions? Comedian Seth MacFarlane has been officially chosen to host the Oscars — a move that's somewhat surprising, since MacFarlane is best known for being the voice and creator of animated series like Family Guy and not necessarily for his hosting skills. He did, however, make for an impressive Saturday Night Live emcee on the show's season premiere, and MacFarlane does seem to be popping up in more places since his Summer comedy Ted was such a hit. MacFarlane seems excited about the gig, saying, "It's truly an overwhelming privilege to be asked to host the Oscars. My thoughts upon hearing the news were, one, I will do my utmost to live up to the high standards set forth by my predecessors, and, two, I hope they don't find out I hosted the Charlie Sheen Roast."
While MacFarlane isn't as seasoned as someone like last year's host, Billy Crystal, he has proven that he can sing and dance — and his wicked sense of humor should up the entertainment. But what do you think of Seth MacFarlane as the Oscar host choice? Do you think he'll make a good host, or would you have picked someone else for the job?
Mark, Mila, and Seth Team Up For Their Ted Premiere
The stars were out at Hollywood's Grauman's Chinese Theatre last night for the premiere of Ted. Mila Kunis, in a Christian Dior dress and Christian Louboutins, joined Mark Wahlberg and the film's writer-director, Seth MacFarlane, on the red carpet. Mark posed for a few photos solo, and was later joined by his wife, Rhea Durham. He told us initially he wasn't interested in starring in a film about a teddy bear that comes to life, but he came to see the potential in Seth's idea. Mark also said he's excited for the Entourage movie and may make a small cameo when it starts shooting next year.
Mila and Seth have worked together on Family Guy for over a decade, and when he asked her to read his Ted script over four years ago, she was happy to check it out. Right now, Mila's taking a break from Blood Ties to promote Seth's raunchy comedy. Later this year, she'll be on the big screen in Oz: The Great and Powerful. Seth told us he's excited for fans to see the film, and when we asked about a possible sequel, he said he'd love to do it. It was a special evening for some of the supporting cast members as well. Newlywed Giovanni Ribisi debuted his wedding ring and producer Scott Stuber, who welcomed a son with Molly Sims earlier this week, celebrated his good news with the cast and crew.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Sofia Vergara, and Ryan Seacrest Stand Up to Cancer Together
Vanessa Hudgens, Kristen Bell, and Mandy Moore walked the red carpet on Friday before heading in to take their seats at the Stand Up 2 Cancer phone banks in LA. The hour-long telethon was broadcast on multiple major networks and streamed across the web, and the effort raised more than $100 million dollars for research in the fight against the disease. Modern Family's Sofia Vergara and mom-to-be Christina Applegate, both of whom battled cancer in the past, proudly modeled t-shirts that read "Survivor."
Gwyneth Paltrow arrived on the West Coast on Thursday, ready to add her support to the event after attending Fashion's Night Out in London last week. She caught up with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, while Rob Lowe joined Diane Lane. Cindy Crawford, and Chuck's Zachary Levi helped in collecting donations, and fresh-from-Mexico Ryan Seacrest also lent his star power to the cause. Contributions to the charity are still being accepted, and they're even open to making good use of Facebook credits!

Seth MacFarlane Has Stewie Throwing a Lot of Punches For Family Guy
Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has created his very own YouTube channel to beg the question: Where's My Emmy?. (First of all, Seth, this is the first time Family Guy has been nominated for best comedy series, so take it easy). Anyway, the website has been rolling out video clips showing Stewie and Brian arguing over the nominees for best comedy series, taking digs at each of the shows. The videos are basically exactly the same except for some of the dialogue particular to each nominated series, and they're so heavy on cartoon violence that they actually make me cringe more than laugh.
Check 'em out below and tell me what you think!
