What's Your Favorite Quote From Scott Pilgrim vs. the World?

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World flew a little under the radar when it was released in 2010, but for my money, it remains one of the most original and entertaining flicks.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World flew a little under the radar when it was released in 2010, but for my money, it remains one of the most original and entertaining flicks. Michael Cera plays the melancholy Scott, and the film is peppered with some of my favorite faces: Kieran Culkin, Aubrey Plaza, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jason Schwartzman, Chris Evans, and Mae Whitman. Check out some of my favorite quotes, and tell me yours!

What Is the Best Comedic Movie of 2010?

Laughter is the best medicine, but which film brought in the biggest dose this year?

Laughter is the best medicine, but which film brought in the biggest dose this year? 2010 was filled with the ever-popular dude comedy, but there was also a Sex and the City flick and Easy A to prove that guys aren't the only ones getting big laughs. There may not be a standout like last year's The Hangover, but what do you think is the best comedic movie of 2010?

What to Rent: New DVD Tuesday

We've got a handful of big films and recognizable faces in this week's new DVDs.

We've got a handful of big films and recognizable faces in this week's new DVDs. Along with these three releases, you can also check out Ramona and Beezus and Love Ranch.

Grown Ups

Adam Sandler rounds up some of his SNL cronies (Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, plus Kevin James) for the story of five childhood friends who reunite for a weekend of camaraderie (and immaturity) following the death of their grade school basketball coach. There's not much depth here, but as seen in old-school Sandler flicks, you have endless pratfalls, fart jokes, and the requisite Steve Buscemi cameo. Special DVD features include a behind-the-scenes featurette with the cast and gag reels.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

Michael Cera leads a cast of hot young actors (Jason Schwartzman, Anna Kendrick, and Chris Evans just to name a few) in this adaptation of the awesomely geeky graphic novel series. Cera plays the title character, a bassist who's completely smitten with the mysterious, blue-haired Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). To win her heart, he must fight all seven of her evil exes in a video game-like series of battles. The film is fast-paced, clever, and definitely worth a second viewing at home. Special DVD features include cast commentaries, deleted scenes, and bloopers.

August's Best and Worst Movies, Music, and TV

We may be saying goodbye to August (and Summer right along with it), but at least we're ending things on a good note! Jimmy Fallon put on an entertaining show at the Emmys, great music hit the airwaves, and the True Blood stars stripped down. And then there was the I'm Still Here trailer. Um, yeah. Let's relive the month's highs and lows, shall we?

Box Office: The Expendables Blows Up the Charts

Looks like Summer audiences are craving action!

Looks like Summer audiences are craving action! The Sylvester Stallone-directed The Expendables brought its heavy artillery to the box office and came away with first place in its opening weekend with $35 million. It faced off against fellow new release Eat Pray Love, which used the power of Julia Roberts's smile to get to second place with a $23.7 million intake.

Last week's champ The Other Guys came in at third place with $17 million, trailed by Inception at $11.4 million. The other newbie at theaters, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, barely made the top 5, earning just $10.5 million.

Hot Buzz Time Machine: Michael Cera and Mae Whitman on Arrested Development

Before they were rivals in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Michael Cera and Mae Whitman were romantic interests on Arrested Development.

Before they were rivals in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Michael Cera and Mae Whitman were romantic interests on Arrested Development. As George Michael and Ann Veal, Cera and Whitman were young, apple-cheeked teens in love . . . a far cry from Scott Pilgrim and Roxy Richter, who only want to decimate each other. Watch this clip from the series, and try not to get too nostalgic for the hilarious Fox show — or too eager for the much-anticipated movie version.
