Joshua Jackson showed support for Diane Kruger when he attended the premiere of her new film, The Host, in LA last night. Diane wore a sheer black dress by Thakoon and Jimmy Choo shoes as she posed on the red carpet with Joshua and later met up with costars Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons. The movie, which hits theaters on March 29, is based on the novel of the same name by Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer. Diane has been doing quite a bit of press for her new flick, including covering the latest issue of Flare magazine and attending a Host book signing last weekend. She showed midriff in a Carven top at the literary event after going casual in pink pants for errands. Diane's style has garnered plenty of fans, including Brad Goreski, who recently confessed that she's his "style crush."

Byzantium Trailer: Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan Are Mother and Daughter Vampires
Ready for some more vampires on the big screen? Instead of the common focus on romance, Byzantium revolves around the relationship between mother and daughter vampires, Clara and Eleanor (Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan). The trailer gives us a peek at their dynamic: Clara is a prostitute without much humanity save for her feelings for her child, and daughter Eleanor sometimes has to tell mom not to attack victims. Their lives are threatened when young Eleanor falls for a human boy (X-Men: First Class's Caleb Landry Jones) and Clara doesn't exactly support the union.
Aside from its central relationship, Byzantium doesn't seem to be bringing anything particularly fresh to the bloodsucker genre, but it is directed by Neil Jordan, who directed Interview With the Vampire. The man knows his way around a gothic vampire tale, so I'm curious to see more, especially since I like both Arterton and Ronan so much. Byzantium comes out June 28, but you can check out the trailer after the jump.
The Host Trailer: Saoirse Ronan Falls in Love, Gets Seized by Alien
Just in time for the conclusion of Twilight, the full trailer for the film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's The Host has arrived. This one is a love story too, but this time we've got aliens instead of vampires. We've already seen a teaser for the movie, but this is the first full-length trailer and it shows a lot more of the plot. Saoirse Ronan and Max Irons star as Melanie and Jared, two humans living in a future in which the planet has been overrun by an invading species known as Souls. Soon after meeting and falling in love (I mean, they are some of the last humans on earth), Melanie is captured by the aliens, including The Seeker (Diane Kruger). They attempt to take over her body so it can act as a host for one of them, but her will is strong and she puts up a fight.
This trailer is pretty thrilling and it really gets started when "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons kicks in — talk about a perfect song choice. We've seen movies that take place in the future, but the way they show the aliens taking over bodies and inhabiting the Earth makes the concept still feel fresh — and excessively creepy. What do you think, will The Host be all the rage in 2013? The movie opens March 29, and you can watch the trailer when you read more.
The Host Teaser: I Guess Aliens Have Really Pretty Eyes
The Twilight Saga may be winding down this year, but The Host is another Stephenie Meyer adaptation to look forward to. Unfortunately, the first teaser for the film — which stars Saoirse Ronan as a woman who fights against an alien that tries to take over her body — is pretty underwhelming. There's no real footage from the film, just some threats that the world as we know it is about to be taken over (and apparently, you can see it in our eyes). The trailer loses more points since we don't get to see Ronan's cute costar Max Irons at all. At least there's still a full trailer to look forward to.

Celeb Style: Saoirse Ronan
One of our favorite girls on the rise, Saoirse Ronan, stepped out in a sweet seasonal ensemble, while out and about for the CineMagic festival in Dublin. Mixing a playful printed Topshop romper ($100) with a sheer-sleeved little jacket, she sets the mood for a look that's youthful, peppy, and pulled-together. We love how her Miu Miu oxfords play up the polished vibe; then throw on a brightly-hued crossbody bag ($118) and you're out the door. Just click the items above to shop the same style.

Saoirse Ronan Will Become Stephenie Meyer's Host

Author Stephenie Meyer is stepping outside of the Twilight realm and taking another novel to the big screen. Saoirse Ronan will star in The Host, a science-fiction story about a girl who's fighting for control of her body after being possessed by a "soul." The souls are an alien race that has come to Earth to usurp the bodies of humans. Ronan will have the challenge of portraying Melanie, the human host, and Wanderer, the soul who has invaded her.
If anyone can tackle a character with warring sides, it's Ronan, who's played complex characters in Hanna and Atonement. If you've read The Host, let me know how you think Ronan measures up.
