Paris and Doug Aim For the A-List With Bravo

Despite living on the D-List, Kathy Griffin hosted the Bravo A-List awards in LA last night.

Despite living on the D-List, Kathy Griffin hosted the Bravo A-List awards in LA last night. Her recent shopping partner Paris Hilton attended with future husband (for now) Doug Reinhardt on her arm. Jenny McCarthy and Tori Spelling looked ready for spring in their short dresses while Kim Kardashian stayed on her trend of keeping it classy. Rachel Zoe, whose show we can't wait to see return, also attended, as did pregnant Ana Ortiz. The festivities got frisky and even included a goo-covered Kathy, though the fun won't be on air until April 15.

Which "Idol" Contestant Would You Bring Back?

Seeing all the booted "American Idol" finalists cheering on Jordin and Blake from the audience last night made me wonder: If you could have brought back one of them for the finale, who would it be?

Mr. Malakar Goes To Washington

Sanjaya Malakar may have been voted off American Idol last week, but it doesn't look like we're free of him just yet.

Sanjaya Malakar may have been voted off American Idol last week, but it doesn't look like we're free of him just yet. The teenager was selected by People Magazine to attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner, along with lots of celebs and politicians. The event had a less comical tone than usual due to the VA Tech tragedy, but Sanjaya still got his first taste of fame, rubbing elbows with the likes of Teri Hatcher and Petra Nemcova. Here's more:

The mild-mannered Malakar, meanwhile, told PEOPLE he's just trying to take it all in. "It's been really a whirlwind. I've just been trying to ride the wave and go one day at a time," said Malakar, wearing a dark pinstriped suit and highlighted, loose curls.

The swooning fans made him "a little uncomfortable," he admitted. But it's attention he may have to get used to as he sets his sights on a future beyond music. "I want to go into acting or modeling, maybe Broadway," said the former Idol, who thinks doing a hair commercial "Would be awesome!"

We were happy to see Sanjaya get the boot from AI, but it's good to see that he's stopped crying and is seeing Idol as a positive experience. Plus, Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry still made it big without the big win, so you never know (but please say it isn't so).

Sugar Bits - Sanjaya Now Hiring a Bodyguard

Sanjaya loves his fans, but he's hiring a bodyguard to keep the Fanjayas from getting too close.

  • Sanjaya loves his fans, but he's hiring a bodyguard to keep the Fanjayas from getting too close. He's also slated to be a guest at an upcoming White House Correspondents Dinner. Guess getting booted from Idol isn't such a bad gig after all! - E! Online, Fox News

Having Already Conquered the World, "Idol" Takes on McDonald's

Mamas, if you don't want your babies to grow up to be "American Idol" worshipers, you might want to steer clear of McDonald's for a while.

Mamas, if you don't want your babies to grow up to be "American Idol" worshipers, you might want to steer clear of McDonald's for a while. Starting tomorrow, "Idol"-themed toys will be showing up in the kiddos' Happy Meals.

Among the options: a teensy microphone, a non-functional fake iPod, a rockin' star-shaped guitar, and sunglasses — because obviously, the "Idol" hopefuls are too bright to look at without shades. Oh, and that weird thing at the far right? That's the applause-o-matic, which, frankly, explains a lot. Not pictured: a Madonna-style pop star headset.

My favorite is the microphone, which is officially called the "judgmental mic" and issues one of three verdicts on your singing: "Off da hook," "You're going to Hollywood," or "You're the next American Idol!" Apparently, "pitchy" didn't make the cut.

"American Idol" Elimination: See Ya, Sanjaya!

Y'all, what are we going to talk about now?

Y'all, what are we going to talk about now?

Sanjaya — he of the ponyhawk, the creepy smile and the possible deal with the devil — ended his "American Idol" reign of terror on Wednesday after giving one of the only truly boring performances of his "Idol" career. No, I'm not kidding. That sound you heard was America gasping, then cheering. His tears at the end were oddly reassuring; I think he really did want to win and wasn't just treating the whole thing as a joke. He also gets points for changing the chorus of his farewell song to: "Let's give 'em something to talk about — other than hair."

Now I suppose the biggest question is which contestant Vote for the Worst will pick next.

Joining Sanjaya in the bottom three were LaKisha and Blake, each I believe making their first appearance there. I'm not too worried about Blake yet; he has devoted fans, and I believe they'll turn out even more in force next week. But I do sense the tide turning against LaKisha somewhat — especially since Jordin stepped it up — and she's certainly not a lock for the final anymore. For the rest of my thoughts on the show — including a possible resolution to EyeRollGate — read more
