We're counting down to Catching Fire's November release date, even more so now that we've seen the first trailer for the Hunger Games sequel. Even though its November 22 release date sounds so far away, we have a few pictures to look at from the movie, including shots of new characters like Finnick and Plutarch, played by Sam Claflin and Philip Seymour Hoffman. And of course, there are some juicy shots of returning stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and more — see them in their finest winners' duds along with the rest of all the pictures we've seen of Catching Fire so far.
The film industry certainly has been busy this week! Kristen Stewart is set to costar with Elizabeth Banks, Charlize Theron added another film to her already busy docket, and Colin Farrell is set for a new thriller. Find out what Tina Fey's next project is and more with the biggest casting news of the week!
We've been dying for any glimpse we can get of Catching Fire, and today we've got a big treat! Entertainment Weekly has the first official look at the Hunger Games sequel on this week's cover, featuring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss and newcomer Sam Claflin as Finnick — all suited up and ready for their second time in the arena. I'm already hungry for more pictures, but in the meantime, Claflin is looking pret-ty good with that trident, no? In the issue, Lawrence jokes about her candid interviews with the media, while Claflin admits that he's moderately terrified of the Hunger Games fan base. Here are highlights:
- Jennifer Lawrence, joking about running her mouth to reporters: "It’s almost like I subconsciously don’t want to work anymore, so I’m trying to ruin my career. I'm pregnant!"
- JL on crazy antics between takes: "When Sam [Claflin] walked in, I was chasing Woody [Harrelson], and we’d flipped over my couch, and Woody had a sock all the way down my throat . . . "
- Sam Claflin on taking on a more provocative scene from the book: "The scariest moment of my life. I’m on Twitter, and so many people have been like, 'Don’t mess this up, or we will kill you.'"

2012 was a breakout year for so many male stars. There were plenty of men who made their mark on TV, including Emmy winners Damian Lewis and Idris Elba and Revenge star Josh Bowman. Several of the guys we already love have a major 2013 ahead as well, like Anthony Mackie, who will appear in Gangster Squad, The Avengers 2, and Runner, Runner. We can't forget some of our favorite Brits, either, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Sam Riley, and Sam Claflin.
We're two days into 2013 and optimistic about the twelve months ahead. With so many talented men on the scene, we want to know — which of these guys are you most excited to see more of in the year ahead?
Handsome Englishman and Les Misérables breakout star Eddie Redmayne — a longtime friend of Robert Pattinson, Andrew Garfield, Sam Claflin, and Tom Sturridge — joins his mates, and one lucky American leading lady, in the ranks of Hollywood's hottest young actors. Plus, how Eddie assured Kristen of Rob's "good boy" status before they filmed Twilight together! We've got all the insider info on this star-studded British bromance in today's PopSugar Rush.
Jennifer Lawrence was back in full Katniss mode, complete with her signature braid and bow and arrows, on the set of Catching Fire in Hawaii this week. She was joined by her costars Josh Hutcherson and Sam Claflin, who play Peeta and Finnick, respectively, in the Hunger Games sequel. The story takes Katniss and Peeta back into another Hunger Games, and this time the arena is mostly covered in water, which explains the wetsuits and diving we're seeing here. Check out all the pics to see Peeta get a helping hand from Finnick, Finnick taking a dive, and Katniss chowing down on some fruits of the sea.
Spoiler alert: the Quarter Quell has begun! We've got photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and newcomer Sam Claflin diving into Catching Fire's on-set — and at sea — action while filming in Hawaii, plus the latest on Jennifer's award season nominations. The cast of the second Hunger Games installment showed up on set in Atlanta yesterday. Production on Catching Fire got started on Monday, and Josh Hutcherson, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Willow Shields, Alan Ritchson, Jeffrey Wright, and others reported for work. Sam made his debut as Finnick Odair, while Jena got into character as Johanna Mason. Jennifer Lawrence, who is sporting darker hair for Katniss, wasn't spotted during the day of filming, but she talked about getting back to her big-screen role during a recent appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival.
It's time for actor Sam Claflin to enter the arena and join The Hunger Games! The British star, who most recently caught our attention in Snow White and the Huntsman, is said to be nearing an offer for the role of Catching Fire's Finnick Odair. We're making our case for why he's a good fit for the part; plus, hear from Sam himself on working opposite kick-ass women (Katniss, anyone?). It's in PopSugar Rush!
