Ron Howard came out last night to support the 21st annual Alzheimer's Association's A Night at Sardi's event. We caught up with the legendary actor-turned-director on the purple carpet to talk about what drew him to last night's charitable, and very musical, event. While he maintained he would not be one of the stars performing, he reminisced about his first public singing experience, as well as the recent reunion with his Happy Days mom, Marion Ross. Ron was also exited to chat about the fan-favorite Arrested Development, which is being rebooted as a series on Netflix.
Celebrities Prep For the Oscars at a Party With Vantiy Fair and Fiat
Josh Hartnett got in on the pre-Oscars parties when he dropped by the Vanity Fair and Fiat party benefiting the United Nations International Labour Organization in LA last night. The star-studded event, which was hosted by Ron Howard and composer Hans Zimmer, also included Lake Bell, Alyssa Milano, and Adrien Brody as guests. Josh had a busy evening, as he also visited the Hollywood Domino and Bovet 1822 event in West Hollywood. Alyssa — who wore Gucci to last night's event — will likely have a lot more Academy Awards-related events to attend this weekend, since her husband, David Bugliari, reps Bradley Cooper, who is nominated for best actor. Bradley has a lot of events on his plate this week, including Wednesday night's Vanity Fair dinner for Silver Linings Playbook, which he attended alongside costar Jennifer Lawrence and director David O. Russell. Don't forget to join us for our LIVE Oscars viewing party and red carpet coverage on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 5:30 p.m. EST/2:30 p.m. PST.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z Cuddle Up During Their Philly Weekend
Beyoncé Knowles headed to Philadelphia to link up with her husband, Jay-Z, over the weekend. He was in the city of Brotherly Love to headline the Labor Day Made in America festival. After taking the stage with Kanye West on Friday, Jay was back before the crowds last night too. Beyoncé was on hand to watch both nights, and yesterday afternoon, the couple were snapped showing some PDA and catching up with director Ron Howard. Jay-Z and their daughter, Blue Carter, were seen together in NYC on Thursday, ready to make their way south to Philadelphia. Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and Blue reportedly wrapped up their Summer sharing a $400,000-per-month rental in the Hamptons.
Chris Hemsworth Gets in Fighting Shape For a New Role
Chris Hemsworth brushed his dirty blond locks behind his ear and prepped for an intense scene on the London set of Rush yesterday. The Ron Howard directed film is based on the true story of Formula 1 champ Niki Lauda and the 1976 crash that almost took his life. Chris portrays the role of Lauda's racing rival, James Hunt. Ron was lucky to get Chris on the project before he's called back to duty with The Avengers crew. Chris resumes his role as superhero Thor in the upcoming release, due out May 4, and it seems fans are eager to get a glimpse of their favorite Marvel superheroes together in one place. The Avengers trailer broke iTunes download records and was apparently viewed 13.7 million times in its first 24 hours of release. The blockbuster mania continues throughout June for Chris when he pops up on the big screen again, opposite Kristen Stewart, in the highly anticipated dark fairy tale, Snow White and the Huntsman.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt Joins Bryce Dallas Howard For a Screening, Then Occupies Wall Street
Bryce Dallas Howard joined her father, director Ron Howard, and her 50/50 costar Joseph Gordon-Levitt at NYC's Museum of Natural History last night for a screening of her directorial project When You Find Me. Bryce created the 15-minute short, and Ron served as producer on the film as part of Canon's Project Imagin8ion series. She's quickly approaching the final weeks of her second pregnancy, and looked lovely in a floor-length Max Azria gown for the event.
JGL came out to support his friends, and posed for photos with Bryce after his arrival. Later in the evening, he ditched his chic attire and changed into something more casual to venture down to the occupy Wall Street protests in Zuccotti Park. The Dark Knight Rises actor brought along his camera and began recording images of the scene when police confronted the protesters around 3 a.m. Joseph headed home early this morning and uploaded the footage to his website and encouraged fans submit their own occupy images.

Winona Ryder to Cheat For Ron Howard
Winona Ryder has a cheatin' heart: she has been cast in Ron Howard's untitled infidelity comedy opposite Kevin James and Vince Vaughn. Vaughn's involvement in the movie was the first to make headlines; he's playing the friend of a guy (James) whose wife is cheating on him.
This means that Ryder will play the wife with the wandering eye, which frankly makes me excited for her. After her brief turn as Spock's mom in Star Trek last Summer, the actress seems like she's getting herself back into big projects and back into the spotlight. For a Reality Bites fan like me who will always love her, I'm happy to see her get a role like this. Any other fans of the '90s sweetheart who are psyched for her too?
