Tom Cruise was all smiles departing dinner in London last night. He reportedly shared a meal with longtime friend Ridley Scott, though it's another director that's hoping to team up with Cruise on a project. New rumors are swirling that Snow White and The Huntsman's Rupert Sanders is in the running to direct Tom's Van Helsing reboot. Tom's currently wrapping up production on his latest thriller, All You Need Is Kill, but soon he'll switch gears to promote his holiday release, Jack Reacher. Tom 's also got Oblivion out next April.
The Space-Age Prometheus Technology We Want Now (Are You Listening, Scientists?)
Science fiction gadgets have a history of inspiring real-life technology. (Remember, the Star Trek PADD was long before the introduction of the iPad.) Sci-fi fans are in for some serious tech eye candy with the release of Ridley Scott's Alien prequel, Prometheus. The tale of a futuristic space quest for alien life features stunning special effects and gadgets that have us wishing the year 2093 wasn't so distant. With David, the cybernetic robot that's uncannily human, topping our list, check out the film's other fictional technology that we can't wait to see become reality.

Charlize, Michael, and Guy Premiere Prometheus Overseas
Fans gathered at London's Leicester Square today to try and get a peek of Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, and Guy Pearce at the world premiere of Prometheus. The trio were also joined on the blue carpet by the film's director, Ridley Scott. Charlize, dressed in Christian Dior, is back in the UK following a recent stint there promoting her other major release, tomorrow's Snow White and the Huntsman with costar Kristen Stewart. Michael's in London, his home base, after a weekend of partying at Monaco's Formula One Grand Prix, where he ran into X-Men: First Class costars Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
This is one of the first major Prometheus event for Charlize, Michael, and Guy. However, the movie's viral video campaign kicked off earlier this Spring. Michael's character, an android named David, gave fans a sneak peek at the alien sci-fi thriller. Next Friday, June 8, Charlize will battle herself at the box office when Prometheus opens against Snow White and the Huntsman. She's also going head-to-head against other A-list celebrities in the PopSugar 100 faceoff — have you voted yet?
Michael Fassbender and Charlize Theron Bring the Hotness to Their Paris Premiere
Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, and Noomi Rapace got together with their Prometheus director Ridley Scott for a Paris premiere today. Charlize went bold in a blue Stella McCartney dress while Noomi stood out in all white. The sci-fi movie doesn't hit theaters in the US until June, but we got a look at the action in the latest Prometheus trailer just last month. In addition to this film, Charlize also has Snow White and the Huntsman being released this Summer. Charlize's costar Kristen Stewart celebrated her 22nd birthday on Monday and Charlize shared a sweet message in honor of her big day.

Wolf of Wall Street Resurrects With Leonardo DiCaprio
As if Leonardo DiCaprio didn't already have enough on his plate, his long-delayed project The Wolf of Wall Street is getting pushed into the foreground again with some help from Ridley Scott. Scott is looking to helm the film, which has been sitting idle for over three years; Martin Scorsese will move from his original role as director into producer duties.
To refresh, Wolf is based on Jordan Belfort's memoir about his days as a stockbroker in the '90s, as he was called to cooperate in a securities fraud case. Full of decadence, corruption, and jail time, it's a tale that feels even more timely now in this post-Bernie Madoff climate. Perhaps waiting to get it up on the big screen was a good move, after all.
Movie Preview: Russell Crowe in Robin Hood
The new trailer for Ridley Scott's Robin Hood makes the classic tale look like child's play (one dead giveaway: no tights in sight). As you might expect, when you reteam Scott with his Gladiator star Russell Crowe, the result is gritty, bloody, and way more hard-edged than the Kevin Costner '90s version. The heavy metal music does feel like it's trying too hard — as one critic points out, it sounds like a car commercial — but I'm liking it. I would just like to see more of Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian. Judging by the clip, I'm guessing this film is going light on the fluffy romance though.

The movie hits theaters on May 14, but take a peek at the video and tell me what you think when you read more
Amy Adams and Zach Galifianakis Move In to Town House
Zach Galifianakis's star continues to rise. The Hangover funny man is reportedly in talks for Town House. Loosely based on the novel by Tish Cohen, the dramedy follows an agoraphobic dad (Galifianakis) living off royalties from his rock star father — the dilemma being what to do when the money runs out. Amy Adams would play a call girl who befriends him.

Adams, aka Miss Enchanted, as a prostitute? Galifianakis as a father?! I love both of these actors, and I'm excited to see them branch out. With Tony and Ridley Scott producing, and John Carney of Once fame is attached to direct, I have high hopes for this one.
What's your take on the news? If the plot gets romantic — which I'm guessing it will — do you think Galifianakis and Adams will make a good pair? (I wonder if he'll shave that beard!)

Angelina Jolie Is Going Gucci

Despite what she may have said in the past, Angelina Jolie's career isn't slowing down anytime soon. Last week we learned that she'll be taking Charlize Theron's place in The Tourist and she may be adding another femme fatale role to her resume. Jolie is in talks to take the lead in Ridley Scott's Gucci.
Jolie would play Patrizia Reggiano, who spent 29 years in prison for plotting the murder of her ex husband, Maurizio Gucci. The script is still being reworked and Ridley's search for his Maurizio continues — apparently Leonardo DiCaprio has been approached but has yet to sign on.
I could absolutely see Jolie in this role, and in general I like when she can show more of her acting chops and less of her kung fu skills. Bonus: Angelina and Leo would make for one hot big screen couple.
