Emma Stone may play damsel-in-distress Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, but she'll be doing her own butt-kicking for her next role: Stone has been offered the lead in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a part that has been attached to both Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson in the past. In this retelling of the Jane Austen classic, Elizabeth Bennet is forced to battle the undead in the midst of her coming-of-age and romance with Mr. Darcy. Stone already has a degree in zombie killing thanks to Zombieland, and I have no doubt that she can do it again. Fans of the book, how would you feel about this casting?

Natalie Portman to Fight Off Zombies
I'm psyched about this news! Natalie Portman has signed on to star and produce in the film adaptation of the book Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Seth Grahame-Smith's spoof on the classic Austen tale. In the new version of the story, Elizabeth Bennet fights off the undead — until she becomes sidetracked by the arrival of the dashing Mr. Darcy.
As a fan of both Portman and Jane Austen, I can't imagine better casting for this role. Portman has the obvious grace necessary to pull off the 19th century heroine, but I think she'll also bring just the right touch of humor to this ridiculous premise, too. How fun will it be to watch her slay zombies?!
Are you a fan of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? Are you excited to see it on the big screen or is it one of those books that should be left alone? How do you feel about Portman as the leading lady?
