The Social Network

Also known as "the Facebook movie," the David Fincher film chronicles the tumultuous rise of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg). Justin Timberlake also appears as MySpace guru Sean Parker, along with rising star Andrew Garfield as Zuckerberg's friend cofounder, Eduardo Saverin. The movie has been hailed as a defining film for this generation, with hoards of critics singing its praises (including here on BuzzSugar). DVD bonus features include a 94-minute documentary titled, How Did They Ever Make a Movie of Facebook?

Piranha 3D

It's killer fish! Piranha 3D has a ridiculous premise: after an underwater tremor disturbs the ocean, prehistoric piranhas come out of hiding to bring havoc to beach visitors. The film plays into its silly sense of humor with plenty of gore and gratuitous nudity, but will it pack the same punch without the 3D format at home? If you decide to take the plunge, keep an eye out for some familiar faces, including one of our people to watch Adam Scott and Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr. DVD extras include include filmmaker commentary and behind-the-scenes featurettes.

Box Office: Vampires Can't Bite The Expendables

Despite a whole crop of new movies opening in theaters last Friday, The Expendables managed to hang onto the box office crown, taking in another $16.5 million.

Despite a whole crop of new movies opening in theaters last Friday, The Expendables managed to hang onto the box office crown, taking in another $16.5 million. Hot on its trail was Twilight spoof Vampires Suck, which raked in $12.2 million despite abysmal reviews.

Eat Pray Love was knocked down to third with $12 million, followed by Bow Wow's comedy, Lottery Ticket, which opened with $11.1 million. The Other Guys hung on to a top five slot with $10.1 million, just barely knocking out Piranha 3D which made $10 million.

As for the other box office newbies? Nanny McPhee Returns only made $8.3 million, but it still did better than The Switch, which settled for a disappointing $8.1 million.

The Expendables won the top spot at last weekend's box office, but today the action film will have to do battle with three new movies. The Switch, which Buzz found to be quite funny, is out, as is Piranha 3D starring Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr. The Twilight spoof Vampires Suck also arrives in theaters, so tell us — which new movie, if any, will you buy tickets to see?
