Naomi Watts Makes a Glamorous Carpet Stop in Red
Naomi Watts went for a red gown when she attended the Visual Effects Society Awards in Beverly Hills yesterday. She was there to support her film The Impossible, which took home the best supporting visual effects award. Other big winners from the night included Life of Pi, with four awards including outstanding visual effects in a visual-effects-driven feature motion picture, the VES equivalent of best picture. Naomi wasn't the only star that walked the red carpet — Antonio Banderas and Harrison Ford also brought star-power to the event.
Naomi is currently gearing up for the Oscars, where she is nominated for best actress. Naomi recently shared that she's "looking forward" to the silence that comes after the Academy Awards. She also opened up about her home life, admitting that raising two boys during award season can be difficult, but that doesn't keep her from doing chores. She said, "I do my own laundry, but I sometimes have help. I cook. I definitely don't have a chef."
Patton Oswalt Searches For the First Internet Commenter
Ahead of next Monday's 16th annual Webby Awards, this year's show host Patton Oswalt went in search of one of the Internet's greatest mysteries: the first commenter.

Who was that perceptive person that decided to help fellow Internet users recognize their feat of being the first person to comment on a funny pet video, "First!!" was the most appropriate comment? Watch as the comedian investigates in the video below.
Charlize Theron Toasts Her Golden Globe Nomination With a Premiere
Charlize Theron stepped out in Beverly Hills last night for a Young Adult premiere held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. She donned a dress from Stella McCartney to pose on the red carpet along with costars Patton Oswalt and Elizabeth Reaser, as well as the movie's writer Diablo Cody. It was a extraspecial screening for Charlize, because earlier in the day she made the list of 2012 Golden Globe nominees! Charlize was pleased with the accolade, saying yesterday, "Yeah, these are the moments where you go, what did I do in a past life to deserve all of this? It's all too much."
Her character, a 30-something author who returns to her hometown to try and win back her now-married ex-boyfriend, is a controversial one. Playing the role opened Charlize's eyes about portraying someone unlikeable and also taught her about some weird female habits. In particular, Charlize doesn't get Hello Kitty. She said recently, "I'm pretty amazed by Hello Kitty. I see so many women in their 30s walking around in Hello Kitty sh—t, and nobody is concerned for them. It's the one iconic teenage symbol that seems OK for women in their 30s? The world seems to not have an issue with it."
Patton Oswalt Says His Young Adult Costar Charlize Theron Is "Amazing in This Role"
Patton Oswalt stars in this week's Young Adult opposite Charlize Theron as an old high school classmate of her character Mavis, and I sat down to chat with Patton about the movie. He talked about how he got the role and how he prepared for the film, like hiring an acting coach and using a physical therapist for his character's mannerisms. He also talked about his beautiful costar Theron, their easy chemistry, and the boozy nights out they've had together. Watch now.
Charlize Is All Grown Up in Ravishing Red at Young Adult Premiere
Charlize Theron led the way in a sexy little red dress at the NYC screening of Young Adult last night. While there was no date on her arm, Charlize looked happy to be in the company of costars including Patton Oswalt, Patrick Wilson, and Elizabeth Reaser. Young Adult screenwriter Diablo Cody was also decked out for the event while Jason Reitman was in his usual attire. Charlize's character in the movie seems a long way from her stunning and strong self, though in the age of Facebook even Charlize admitted to checking in on her high school crush. Charlize is also getting great reviews for her part in the movie and with award season around the corner, we'll hopefully see a lot more daring and impressive red-carpet looks from the actress.
Charlize Theron and Elizabeth Olsen Kick Off Statue Season With the Gotham Awards
The 2011 Gotham Independent Film Awards helped kick off the season of red-carpet gowns, acceptance speeches, and star-studded celebrations in NYC yesterday. Award season is officially around the corner, and the action will really start heating up when the nominations for the Film Independent Spirit Awards come out later this morning. At last night's party, Charlize Theron wowed in a revealing Gucci dress as she joined her Young Adult costar Patton Oswalt on stage. Elizabeth Olsen wore Valentino and was a nominee in the Best Breakthrough Actor category for her role in Martha Marcy May Marlene, though the statue went to Like Crazy's Felicity Jones in the end. The big winners during the show were The Tree of Life and Beginners, which tied for Best Feature. Check out all the Gotham Awards winners on Hollywood Reporter.
