Hollywood stars stepped out to support athletes and coaches at last night's ESPY Awards in LA. Actor and comedian Rob Riggle hosted the annual event, which included musical performances by Nas and Swizz Beatz. Jessica Biel looked hot in white Christian Dior as she took the stage with Tim Tebow to present the breakout athlete of the year award to Jeremy Lin. Jeremy, Tim, and Jess got goofy in a photo booth backstage afterward.

Presenters included Rob Lowe, Jeremy Renner, Olivia Munn, and an Oscar de la Renta-clad Zooey Deschanel. Magic Mike's Cody Horn, in Cushnie et Ochs, shared the microphone with Nascar driver Jimmie Johnson while her costars Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum continued promoting the movie overseas. Stars from the sports world, including Peyton Manning, LeBron James, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn, Shaun White, and Maria Sharapova mingled with singer Kenny Chesney, who was on a break from his tour with Tim McGraw. Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, and other actors were also on hand to celebrate the evening's nominees and winners.

Jay-Z was beaming as he hit the stage in NYC Monday evening to kick off his two back-to-back Carnegie Hall shows to benefit the United Way as well as his Sean Carter Foundation. It's Jay-Z's first performance since becoming a dad to baby Blue Ivy Carter in early January and he was looking sharp in his Dolce&Gabbana tuxes. New mom Beyoncé Knowles also stepped out for her first appearance since Blue's arrival, and though she stuck to the sidelines during the show Jay-Z did have some special guests including Alicia Keys and Nas. While fans anxiously await the first glimpse of Blue Ivy, the one month old has already broken records. Jay-Z "Glory," which he wrote and released a day after her birth made Blue the youngest person ever to hit the Billboard charts.

Rapper Nas Gives Petition to "Propaganda Machine" Fox News

Rapper Nas joined with the Color of Change and MoveOn to deliver a petition to the offices of Fox News yesterday.

Rapper Nas joined with the Color of Change and MoveOn to deliver a petition to the offices of Fox News yesterday. Just after his controversial album hit number one, Nas took the podium protesting the racist attacks he sees coming from Fox against Black Americans and Barack Obama.

Delivering over 600,000 signatures to the network, Nas delivered a prepared speech saying, "We already knew that Fox is not a news network; they are a propaganda machine . . . Fox poisons this country every time they air racist propaganda and try to call it news. This should outrage every American that Fox uses hateful language to talk about the person that may be the first black president."

Fox declined receipt of the signatures, but issued a statement: "Fox News believes in all protesters exercising their right to free speech, including Nas, who has an album to promote."

That album now called Untitled had an original, much more controversial title. Does this affect his statement against Fox?

What to Download: New Music on iTunes

Tuesdays are big in entertainment-ville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes.

Tuesdays are big in entertainment-ville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. Here are today's selections:

The provocateur: Finally the album that made headlines long before it was ever released is here, and getting fairly good reviews. The album seems intense, and while I'm already bouncing my head to some of the melodies and rhymes ("Queens Get the Money" and "Make the World Go Round" featuring Chris Brown), other tracks are so thick with messages and insinuations it will take more than a quick listen to suss it out ("Sly Fox," for example, is an all-out attack on Fox News).

A new songbird: Every once in a while I flip on VH1 while I get ready in the morning because that's one of the few times I'm able to find actual music videos on the television. On one such morning, I caught this young Aussie singer (and former star of the TV show Neighbours), Delta Goodrem, and she sounded alright. Kinda reminded me of a slightly more upbeat Sarah McLaughlin. Check out the tracks "In This Life" and "Brave Face" from her self-titled album now available in the U.S. and let me know what you think.

One more pick to go (hint: it's a soundtrack) so read more

Nas Changes His Album Title: Smart Move?

Nas is no stranger to controversy and when he announced that the title of his upcoming album would include a divisive word, he once again found himself and his music under fire.

Nas is no stranger to controversy and when he announced that the title of his upcoming album would include a divisive word, he once again found himself and his music under fire.
Jesse Jackson was one among many activists to speak out, saying, "The title using the 'N' word is morally offensive and socially distasteful. Nas has the right to degrade and denigrate in the name of free speech, but there is no honor in it."

Now Nas has announced that the album will drop in July without a title, stating:

[The title] kind of comes off as something that can be disrespectful. Our older black people can take it the wrong way. Some non-blacks can take it the wrong way, and it becomes a thing that becomes controversial in all the wrong ways. I accept that. I'm here to do music. I'm here to rap about what I feel and what makes sense to me.

Interestingly, before the change of heart Nas had garnered the support of fellow artists in the community, including LL Cool J, Reverend Run, and Jay-Z. Even Alica Keys threw in a quote of her own saying, "He's incredible, he's not a fool. If he has something shocking to say, it's because he wants you to pay attention to it."

Ultimately Nas decided against alienating certain fans. Do you think this was a smart move, or did Nas compromise himself as an artist?
