Festival Eats: Grub to Keep You Rocking Healthy All Night Long

A History of Music Festivals
Music festivals are nothing new, but the popularity of events like Coachella and Bonnaroo has grown even larger in recent years. The alternative, counterculture spirit of festivals has evolved into more mainstream, all-encompassing events. And although 1969's Woodstock may be the most talked-about music festival in history, it wasn't the first of its kind.
Pinpointing the origins of these events depends largely on your definition of "music festival," but we're taking a look at some of the most popular, history-making festivals from the past century. Just in time for Coachella, take a look at this brief timeline of music festivals through the years.
H&M's Latest Collection Has Music-Festival Style Written All Over It
With SXSW providing the unofficial start to music-festival season, there's no better time to zero in on the pieces worth packing for whichever (music-minded) occasion comes next. Thankfully, that's where H&M's latest Spring/Summer collections come in. Coachella, set in the Indio, CA, desert, is an expectedly heated affair, while the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England, presents a trickier outfit equation, due to unpredictable weather. Throw in Bonnaroo, Governors Ball, Lollapalooza, and Outside Lands, and you've got more than one kind of festivalgoer dress code to contend with too. The basics are the same — a t-shirt, denim staples, and a little fringe go a long way — but it's how you accent your look to fit the locale and the climate that will set you apart. Herein, find our favorite pieces from H&M's Divided and Summer 2013 collections, perfect for the music festivities ahead.

Wanderlust Dudes Dish on Their Festival and Active Lives
If you've ever wondered how one of these big music festivals manages to come together, there's no one better to ask than Jeff Krasno and Sean Hoess, the men behind the Wanderlust Festival. Four years after the first event in Squaw Valley. Wanderlust has succeeded in reshaping the festival landscape as we know it.

Jeff and Sean first met at Columbia University in NYC as bandmates. Years later, after opening a music artist management company under the yoga studio where Schuyler Grant — Jeff's future wife! — was teaching, the three realized that yoga and music crowds had a lot in common. Thus came the idea for Wanderlust, a yoga and music retreat where the two concepts are melded together for, as Sean said, "the adventure-minded crowd who want stuff you can't get at your local yoga studio."
