Motley Crue

Tuesdays are big in entertainment-ville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. In addition to the artists featured below, you can also download the first single from Jessica Simpson's forthcoming country album, new music from dance club sensation Hercules and Love Affair, and a new album from the Oscar-winning musicians Three 6 Mafia. Here are today's selections:

I don't know what they're saying, but I like it: If you haven't discovered the Icelandic band Sigur Rós yet, now's the time: Their new album, Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust (translated to With a Buzz in Our Ears, We Play Endlessly), sounds so far like the band's most upbeat to date. I love the percussion in the first track, "Gobbledigook," and "Inní mér syngur vitleysingur" makes me smile.

The '80s called. They want their music back: Mötley Crüe's ninth album, Saints Of Los Angeles, is the first album with all four original members in more than a decade, and instead of reinventing the wheel, the guys stuck with what they know: big-haired rock 'n' roll. The reviews so far have been so-so, but tracks like "Down at the Whiskey" and "Chicks = Trouble" (and by "chicks" surely they mean "Pam") are mostly getting the thumbs-up.

• According to Variety, the Weinsteins are making a bunch of their movies into stage musicals, starting with Finding Neverland, and later including Shakespeare in Love, Chocolat and Cinema Paradiso, among others.
• Kevin Bacon is joining Renee Zellweger and Chris Noth in My One and Only, writes ComingSoon.
• Sarah Silverman, Niecy Nash, Rashida Jones, and Norm McDonald are among the panelists for TBS's new version of Match Game, writes the Hollywood Reporter.
• Annoyed with how slowly MTV has been moving on their movie, Motley Crue is looking for a new partner to help them get the project done, Billboard reports.




• Wilmer Valderrama will star in a one-hour comedy pilot for Fox called The Emancipation of Ernesto, writes MediaWeek.
• Viral video director Wayne McClammy is on a roll: in addition to directing Cool School, he just sold a comedy script to MGM and will most likely direct that one as well. According to Variety, his movie is titled Le Car and follows "an unconventional group of CIA agents."
• The AP has the news that a whole slew of Hollywood folks will be getting stars on the Walk of Fame next year, like Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley, Felicity Huffman, Tim Burton, Cameron Diaz and The Village People.
• The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has altered the rules for the Oscars so that "the Original Song category will only allow a maximum of two nominated songs from any one film," so movies like Enchanted or Dreamgirls won't dominate the category, Zap2It writes.
• TV Guide points out that the Sesame Street guest stars for next season — Jessica Alba, David Beckham, and Heidi Klum, among them — are pretty darn hot for a kids' show.

Before Angelina Jolie became the face of St. John, there was Kelly Gray, the model/daughter of the American luxury brand’s founders.

I’m thrilled that Kelly handed down the modeling throne to Angelina, not because Angie has an impeccable jawline and flawless skin, but because it's given Kelly the time to work on her soon-to-be launched women’s wear collection and men’s jewelry line for Royal Underground, the contemporary men’s wear company she started with Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx. I know, it sounds like an unlikely pair considering St. John is more for ladies who lunch than rugged rock ‘n rollers. It's been reported, that that’s precisely what Gray intended: “It’s fairly different from my St. John life."

Thanks to Kelly and Nikki, come late summer, when their new line lands in stores, our wardrobes will be much more rockin’ and rollin' with pieces ranging from leather jackets, cashmere sweaters, T-shirts, jeans, dresses and skirts. Let the hard-edge splurging begin!
