Fall TV Update: Eastwick, the Forgotten, and Life Unexpected

A few weeks ago I gave you guys a roundup of the fate of Fall's newest shows, but there's been some shake-ups in the industry this week.

A few weeks ago I gave you guys a roundup of the fate of Fall's newest shows, but there's been some shake-ups in the industry this week. The first is sad news for Eastwick fans: the show has been canceled and will be gone after its first 13 episodes are aired. Lindsay Price just can't catch a break, can she?

Elsewhere on ABC, Christian Slater's The Forgotten is still ticking with five more episodes added to the season, but Let's Dance — the newest celebrity dance competition hosted by Kathy Griffin — is dead in the water. Apparently the show runners couldn't round up enough celeb talent, which is good news for those of you who are sick of all the dance shows.

Finally, the CW's newest addition to the prime-time lineup, Life Unexpected, has gotten a release date. The drama starring WB vets Shiri Appleby and Kerr Smith will premiere on Jan. 18, taking Gossip Girl's time slot while GG goes on a hiatus.

Whew! That's a lot to process all at once, but how are you feeling about these latest updates?

Are You Getting Tired of Competition Dance Shows?

So You Think You Can Dance is now in full swing, and Dancing With the Stars is nearing its season end, but it looks like there won't be any time of the year when you have to go without a dance competition show.

So You Think You Can Dance is now in full swing, and Dancing With the Stars is nearing its season end, but it looks like there won't be any time of the year when you have to go without a dance competition show. It's just been announced that Kathy Griffin has signed on to host Let's Dance, where stars re-enact famous dance routines from pop culture. While it sounds kind of awesome, I feel overloaded with similar news, since Oxygen has just given its competition reality show Dance Your Ass Off a new season.

I love a good dance show (and good dance movie), but I worry this may be too much of a good thing. Are we in competition dance show overload?

Buzz In: What Are Your Favorite TV and Movie Dance Scenes?

Can you imagine clumsy celebrities remaking classic dance scenes from Singin' in the Rain or Dirty Dancing?

Can you imagine clumsy celebrities remaking classic dance scenes from Singin' in the Rain or Dirty Dancing? That's the idea behind ABC's new mini-show Let's Dance, which will feature stars trying to re-create some of those famous dances stage. ABC plans to air five episodes of the series in between seasons of Dancing With the Stars, and while I thought I was immune to dancing shows at this point, I kind of want to see this one. I do love dance movies, after all, and the thought of the likes of Steve Wozniak attempting some of those moves just makes me giggle.

It also got me thinking: what are some of your favorite iconic dance scenes from TV and movies? I'll start you off with the three shown above: the final audition scene in Flashdance, Amber Atkins's exuberant tap routine in Drop Dead Gorgeous, and the "Seize the Day" number from Newsies. Take it away!
