TV Tonight: Launch My Line on Bravo

It's safe to say that Project Runway suffered when it moved to Lifetime; whether it was the LA setting or less than quality casting, the network jump added up to lower ratings.

It's safe to say that Project Runway suffered when it moved to Lifetime; whether it was the LA setting or less than quality casting, the network jump added up to lower ratings.

If you thought the show was lacking the touch of Bravo, then you might want to tune into the network tonight for Launch My Line. As their new fashion reality show, Launch My Line is still a designer competition of sorts, but with a different spin: Instead of competing as designers, the contestants are those who are already established in another field, but want to put out a fashion collection. The show pairs them with fashion experts and they have to work together toward the $50,000 prize (check out Fab's preview of the contestants).

If this all sounds like deja vu, don't worry; Launch My Line was originally supposed to premiere in September, but Bravo moved it to tonight, so it could debut after the Top Chef season finale (which I'll also be tuning into. Go Kevin!).

Bravo's Launch My Line: Love It or Leave It?

While Project Runway mania kicks into high gear over on Lifetime, Bravo's got another fashion-focused show ready to come our way this Fall.

While Project Runway mania kicks into high gear over on Lifetime, Bravo's got another fashion-focused show ready to come our way this Fall. Launch My Line pairs designer-wannabes who already excel in another field — from music to dance to corporate America — with established designers who can help them shape their fashion line. The winner does, indeed, get a line launched, while the helper designer takes home $50,000. FabSugar has a first look at all of the contestants (including Dan Karaty, a choreographer you So You Think You Can Dance fans might recognize!), and I've got a preview of the first episode below. Take a look and tell me your snap judgment. Will you love this show when it premieres Sept. 16? Or is it DOA for you?

Meet the Dashing Cast of Bravo's Launch My Line

It's time to talk about Bravo's new fashion competition show Launch My Line. You ready for this? Premiering Wednesday, Sept. 16, the show takes 10 already established professionals who seek to launch a fashion line and pairs them with fashion designers to make it happen. Teamwork at its best. We shall see. Some bonds are bound to occur, while some drama is guaranteed.

The winning professional will have his or her clothing line launched, and the winner's helping designer will receive $50,000. Pretty simple, no? The show hosts, Dean and Dan Caten of DSquared, are hot, and the judges are reputable retail queens — Stefani Greenfield of Scoop and Lisa Kline. Now that's more like it. Bravo does such a good job with editing and setting the stage, I'm curious about this one. Click on to meet the designers and professionals — I wonder who's going to get paired with whom.
