Julia Roberts Catches Up With Handsome Pals Dermot and Ewan

Julia Roberts met up with some of her famous friends for lunch at Hal's Bar and Grill in Venice, CA, yesterday.

Julia Roberts met up with some of her famous friends for lunch at Hal's Bar and Grill in Venice, CA, yesterday. She was joined by her August: Osage County costars Ewan McGregor (and his wife, Eve Mavrakis), Dermot Mulroney, and Julianne Nicholson for a casual meal. Filming has reportedly wrapped on the production, but it appears the friends are intent on keeping in touch. Julia's next project pairs her with another fellow A-lister, Brad Pitt. Brad's production company, Plan B, is producing
The Normal Heart, which is set to star Julia alongside Matt Bomer and Alec Baldwin.

As for Ewan, he's got an exciting few months ahead. His name has been thrown around recently as Oscar buzz is building around his gripping role in The Impossible. It appears Ewan's already got Angelina Jolie on his side, so it's possible he could get Julia's support as well. Dermot may not be in the hunt for an Academy Award, but he does have his sights set on Park City. Dermot's forthcoming project The Rambler is among the first-round films announced for 2013's official Sundance Film Festival lineup.

Movie Preview: Krasinski's Brief Interviews With Hideous Men

John Krasinski picked a pretty juicy project for his directorial debut: David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews With Hideous Men.

John Krasinski picked a pretty juicy project for his directorial debut: David Foster Wallace's Brief Interviews With Hideous Men. The film has made the festival circuit and garnered mostly so-so reviews. In fact, I read some pretty negative reviews a while ago and got it into my mind that this wouldn't be an appealing movie. But now that there's a trailer, it doesn't look too bad at all.

Krasinski also stars in the movie which follows Sara Quinn (Julianne Nicholson), a doctoral candidate in anthropology whose sudden breakup with her boyfriend motivates her to interview a variety of men in an attempt to better understand their secret thoughts and desires.

Maybe I think it looks OK simply because I expected so little of this film, but I'll probably see it. What do you think? To take a look at the trailer, read more
