John Mayer and Lauren Conrad Team Up to Save the Music

John Mayer and Lauren Conrad teamed up in NYC last night for Save The Music's annual gala.

John Mayer and Lauren Conrad teamed up in NYC last night for Save The Music's annual gala. The organization, which is dedicated to restoring and preserving arts education in public schools, has long been a philanthropic cause close to John's heart. He, along with John Legend and Julie Andrews, was honored for continually supporting their work. Lauren Conrad, meanwhile, made a cameo to introduce Natasha Bedingfield, who sang the theme song from The Hills. LC managed to escape to the East Coast for the evening during a break from her acting and reality star duties. Good Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden were together to pose for photos near Twilight's Billy Burke, though his fictional daughter, Kristen Stewart, was off getting down to business with Robert Pattinson in Brazil.

The Musical World Gets Together to Help Haiti

One day after music's biggest stars gathered in LA for the Grammys, many of them reconvened at the Jim Henson studios yesterday to record a new version of "We Are the World."

One day after music's biggest stars gathered in LA for the Grammys, many of them reconvened at the Jim Henson studios yesterday to record a new version of "We Are the World." The premiere of the single, which benefits Haiti, will take place during the Feb. 12 broadcast of the Vancouver Olympics opening ceremony on NBC. Kanye West was fresh from the French couture shows to join Jennifer Hudson and Wyclef Jean, while Joel Madden brought along little Harlow, who apparently flirted with the Jonas Brothers and Kanye. Benji Madden chatted with Rashida Jones, while Justin Bieber and Harry Connick Jr. mingled with Vince Vaughn.

Nicole Richie was there with Joel and Harlow, later joking, "I hope Jennifer Hudson wasn't upset that I was out singing her tonight." Lil Wayne had a little solo studio time, while Miley Cyrus and Pink bonded for a bit. Celine Dion, meanwhile, looked happy to share a moment with all three Jonas Brothers. Rashida's father, legendary producer Quincy Jones, was the man behind the original version of the song produced 25 years ago, and he was there again leading Hollywood's latest effort to help Haiti while also honoring Michael Jackson.

Love Him or Leave Him: Jason Mraz

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz has apparently made history with his single "I'm Yours."

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz has apparently made history with his single "I'm Yours." The song has spent 70 weeks on Billboard's "Hot 100," making it the longest-running song in the chart's 51-year history. Previously, LeAnn Rimes held the record with her 1998 song "How Do I Live."

So, are you one of the many people listening to Mraz's music? If so, what do you like about it? I myself think his stuff's a little on the cheesy side, but I enjoy it anyway. You can take a listen to part of "I'm Yours" below and tell me: What do you think of the record-breaking Jason Mraz?

Red Carpet

The Boys Rock Signature Styles on the Grammy Red Carpet

While the ladies are usually the red carpet highlight of an award show, the Grammys wouldn't have been complete without its musical men.

While the ladies are usually the red carpet highlight of an award show, the Grammys wouldn't have been complete without its musical men. The Jonas Brothers continued their streak of going all out in tuxes, with Joe rocking an extra shiny jacket. Jay-Z also went formal as he gave a hug to his friend Chris Martin before they took the stage together inside the show. T.I. and Snoop mixed it up in their colorful blazers and sunglasses while John Mayer added a punch of purple to his black ensemble. Whether they walked away winners or not, the handsome men made it all the more fun.

Music Video: Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat, "Lucky"

I don't think this is a remarkably genius song, but it is very sweet and manages to tug on my heartstrings a little.

I don't think this is a remarkably genius song, but it is very sweet and manages to tug on my heartstrings a little. Jason Mraz pairs up with Colbie Caillat on "Lucky," a cute ode to love that's full of gratitude and contentment. In the video, the two singers are in separate locations, dreamily musing about how fortunate they are. With lyrics like "Lucky I'm in love with my best friend/Lucky to have been where I have been/Lucky to be comin' home again" your opinion of the song may depend on your opinion of love at the moment. It's a little on the sappy side, but with Valentine's Day approaching I could easily see this one making it onto some playlists for sweethearts.

What to Download: New Music on iTunes

Tuesdays are big in entertainment-ville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes.

Tuesdays are big in entertainment-ville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. Here are today's selections:

Just in time for summer: I've been excitedly anticipating the release of this new Death Cab for Cutie album for a while now. From what I've heard so far I'm really loving it. Tracks like I Will Possess Your Heart have that jam-band quality we got a peek at a little while ago, but I'm finding other songs on the album are equally as unexpected like You Can Do Better Than Me for example. Personally, I'm downloading the entire thing.

Raise your hand if you like pretty songs: Jason Mraz's new album We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. is finally here and there is even a special bonus track version you can pick up at iTunes. I think Jason Mraz is a little like John Mayer — you either dig the singer-songwriter's pop style or you don't. One thing I'll say about this new album is it is far more intimate and laid back than his previous poppy coffee house tunes. One bonus track, I'm Yours is already a bit of an Internet phenomenon and for good reason. It's really sweet!
