Lindsay Lohan Loses Linda Lovelace to Malin Akerman

Well, so much for Lindsay Lohan returning to business as usual after rehab: the actress has lost her hold on her role as Linda Lovelace in the upcoming film Inferno.

Well, so much for Lindsay Lohan returning to business as usual after rehab: the actress has lost her hold on her role as Linda Lovelace in the upcoming film Inferno. Director Matthew Wilder has confirmed that Malin Akerman will replace Lohan as the adult film star. I'm not entirely sure what drew Akerman to the role, but at least Lohan still has those Linda Lovelace posters to keep as souvenirs.

Lindsay Lohan's Next Film Will Wait Until She's Done With Jail

Lindsay Lohan may have landed herself a 90-day jail sentence, but her current movie role — as porn star Linda Lovelace in Inferno — won't be affected.

Lindsay Lohan may have landed herself a 90-day jail sentence, but her current movie role — as porn star Linda Lovelace in Inferno — won't be affected.

The director of the independent biopic, Matthew Wilder, said that production will wait until the actress is done with her jail time to pick up filming, saying, "Not moving on, not recasting, not under any circumstances," even though shooting is ready to begin. Sounds like someone is supportive of Lindsay's career comeback, even if the rest of you are not so sure.

Do You Think Lindsay Lohan Can Make a Career Comeback?

Take a moment to remember the Lindsay Lohan of years past: Freaky Friday, Mean Girls — she showed such promise, until a dangerous mix of DUIs, a rehab stint, and a dysfunctional family made us question if her behavior would hurt her career.

Take a moment to remember the Lindsay Lohan of years past: Freaky Friday, Mean Girls — she showed such promise, until a dangerous mix of DUIs, a rehab stint, and a dysfunctional family made us question if her behavior would hurt her career. Now, she's sporting a SCRAM bracelet after missing alcohol education classes.

Even so, there's a glimmer of hope that Lohan's career is still kicking. In addition to Robert Rodriguez's upcoming film Machete, Lohan has signed on to play '70s porn star Linda Lovelace — and we have photos as proof. Photographer Tyler Shields has just released these posters of the actress in the film Inferno on his website, and it's got me wondering if this could be the project to put Lohan back on the map. It's about a troubled woman in a tough industry — what better outlet to prove herself?

Talent is one thing, but I'm just not sure Lohan will find the fan support. Do you have faith that she can (someday) make a triumphant return?
