What to Rent: New DVDs This Week

In addition to the following releases, Jack and Jill is also now available on DVD.

In addition to the following releases, Jack and Jill is also now available on DVD.

Footloose

In this remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon classic, young city boy Ren (Kenny Wormald) moves to a small town in the South where unchaperoned dancing is forbidden. It's not long before he's romancing the preacher's daughter (Julianne Hough) and causing trouble in the community. While it shouldn't shock you that Footloose isn't necessarily a cinematic masterpiece, and the story seems a little dated, it's still a fun and entertaining watch. Fans of the original in particular will enjoy all of the throwbacks and nods to the first film. The DVD and Blu-ray extras include deleted scenes, commentary, three making-of featurettes, and a few extra music videos.

If you've ever had to deal with the difficulties of a long distance relationship, Like Crazy is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Both the DVD and Blu-ray extras include deleted scenes and commentary.

Breaking Dawn

Box Office: Breaking Dawn Breaks the Bank

In news that will surprise no one, Breaking Dawn Part 1 easily won the top spot at the box office with $139.5 million.

In news that will surprise no one, Breaking Dawn Part 1 easily won the top spot at the box office with $139.5 million. The huge sum just barely missed out on making it the biggest Twilight opening ever; that honor still belongs to New Moon, which made $142.7 million in 2009. Breaking Dawn Part 1's opening is still impressive; it's the second-biggest opening weekend in the vampire series, and the fifth biggest opening of all time.

Way back in second place was new release Happy Feet 2 with $22 million, followed by last week's box office winner Immortals with $12.3 million. Adam Sandler's comedy Jack and Jill came in fourth with $12 million, and animated hit Puss in Boots completed the top five with $10.7 million. In limited release, George Clooney's drama The Descendants debuted in 10th with $1.2 million.

Immortals: One Divine 3D Experience

Everyone may be jumping on the 3D bandwagon these days, but Tarsem Singh's sword-and-sandals epic Immortals is a movie perfectly fit for the 3D screen.

Everyone may be jumping on the 3D bandwagon these days, but Tarsem Singh's sword-and-sandals epic Immortals is a movie perfectly fit for the 3D screen. The opening scene foreshadows the predictable plot to come, but that doesn't make this film any less of a bloody-good visual masterpiece. And while it's impossible to ignore the obvious comparison to 300 (it has the same producers, after all), Immortals has a few tricks up its sleeve, allowing it to stand apart. The brutal and psychotic King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke) and his Heraklion legions are on a quest for the invincible Bow of Epirus. Once it's in his possession, he will be able to unleash the Titans and overthrow the gods on Mt. Olympus. On a seemingly insignificant pillaging spree, he comes across Theseus (Henry Cavill), a lowly stonemason at the very bottom of the social food chain.

Little does Hyperion know, Theseus has been trained by Zeus in disguise on Earth and is one hell of a fierce warrior (not to mention a generally gorgeous creature). After Theseus's mother is murdered by Hyperion, Theseus goes on a quest to take the king down. But as the movie progresses, Theseus's mission evolves when he realizes this crusade has a far larger reach than a personal vendetta. Once a nonbeliever in the gods, he comes to understand that they are on his side. Keep reading to learn where Immortals is truly visionary and where it needs divine intervention.

Kellan Takes His New Romance Public at the Immortals Premiere With Freida and Henry

Kellan Lutz arrived on the red carpet at his Immortals premiere in LA last night holding hands with his girlfriend, actress Sharni Vinson.

Kellan Lutz arrived on the red carpet at his Immortals premiere in LA last night holding hands with his girlfriend, actress Sharni Vinson. Kellan and Sharni reportedly started dating back in July, and weren't shy about showing some PDA last night, sneaking in a kiss as they arrived. The duo were on hand to join Kellan's costars, including Freida Pinto, Henry Cavill, and Stephen Dorff for the big debut at Nokia Live, which drew a large crowd of fans and spectators.

Freida, who arrived in a gorgeous Antonio Berardi dress and Chopard jewelry, walked the carpet solo but changed into a short party dress to reunite with her real-life leading man, Dev Patel, at the afterparty. We spoke with Freida about the modernized Greek epic and her cast of very handsome costars. Freida dished on her admiration for her love interest in the film, Henry. Henry, who has been shooting Man of Steel in recent months, has been showing off his remarkable abs on the set of the Superman reboot lately. Last night, he told us Immortals required just as much physical preparation. In fact, he said the movie's director, Tarsem, told him a six-pack just wasn't good enough — he needed an eight pack for the role! For more from the premiere, stay tuned for today's PopSugar Rush!

Immortals Trailer: Henry Cavill Strips Down, Leads a War of the Gods

If you were hoping to get a better (shirtless) look at your new Superman Henry Cavill, the trailer for Immortals should be just the ticket.

If you were hoping to get a better (shirtless) look at your new Superman Henry Cavill, the trailer for Immortals should be just the ticket. In the upcoming war epic, he plays Theseus, a man chosen by the gods to lead a rebellion against the evil King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke). Supporting him in his corner are priestess Pheadra (Freida Pinto) and Zeus (Luke Evans).

The trailer is somewhere between 300 and Braveheart (OK, so maybe it's just Cavill's speech to his army that reminded me of Braveheart). That said, there's as much eye candy in this preview as there are sword fights. Cavill's all buffed up, there's a quick glimpse at Twilight's typically beefy Kellan Lutz, and even Freida Pinto looks too beautiful to be real. Though the same can't be said for Mickey Rourke — we all know he has no problem playing a deliciously entertaining villain. See if the trailer is up your alley when you read more
