Lara Stone Stars in Hot Chip's New Music Video

Peter Serafinowicz directed the video, in which a cult led by British actor Terence Stamp dances to summon two beings from outer space — played admirably by Stone and musician Reggie Watts. When Stone and Watts arrive, their ships combine to form a yin and yang symbol — which makes the cult happy until things start to go awry. Take a look at the video below.

Your Coachella Shortlist: Saturday's Standout Shows

I don't know what it is, but Coachella's second day felt even more crowded and crazy than the first!
Coachella 2010 Performances from Saturday's Shows, Including Muse and MGMT

I don't know what it is, but Coachella's second day felt even more crowded and crazy than the first! Audiences kept the energy pumping into the wee hours, and yes, the glow sticks came out. I need a breather after all the excitement, but it's your turn for a taste of the mania. Here are the five big acts that had fans bouncing and clapping all day long (and don't forget to follow me on Twitter for festival updates and celeb sightings — yesterday I snapped photos with Rachel Bilson and Kellan Lutz who was hanging in the H&M tent!).

Buzz-Worthy Video: Hot Chip's "I Feel Better"

File this under weird but kind of awesome: electro-pop group Hot Chip just released its music video for "I Feel Better," featuring a fictional boy band ('90s flashbacks, anyone?).

File this under weird but kind of awesome: electro-pop group Hot Chip just released its music video for "I Feel Better," featuring a fictional boy band ('90s flashbacks, anyone?). In the scene, the pretty boys are dancing on stage for screaming fangirls when — plot twist! — an alien figure (or is it God?) enters the room and strikes at the performers with giant lasers that shoot from his mouth. Say what?!

OK, so it isn't the easiest clip to explain, but you can bet people are going to be talking about this one. It's directed by a British male comedian (Peter Serafinowicz), which probably helps explain its odd flavor. As for Hot Chip themselves, watch for a quick cameo as they pop up in the audience — it comes somewhere after a menacing floating head starts shooting with its eyeballs. I'm serious. What to Download: New Music Today

It's a good day for entertainment!

It's a good day for entertainment! Besides the new DVDs today, I've got a few new music releases that should jolt your MP3 player to life.

It's electronic: Hot Chip's latest album, One Life Stand, is the fourth from the British electro-pop band, and though it's not quite as effervescent as 2008's Made in the Dark, there are plenty of crowd-pleasers. "Take It In" and title track "One Life Stand," are my favorites in particular, and the ones I'd cue up for a dance party for one. Less upbeat but just as great is the intense "I Feel Better."

Sugary sweet soundtrack: Before the Valentine's Day movie makes its debut in theaters Friday, its soundtrack bows today. By now you may have heard Taylor Swift's contribution, "Today Was a Fairytale" — the song is typically Swift, in that it's pretty schlocky, but it's also infectious and sweet. In the same vein is the Jewel song, "Stay Here Forever," which actually sounds like it could be a vehicle for Ms. Swift. It's not a comeback track for Jewel, sadly, but maybe it'll help her get her foot back in the pop door.

There are a couple more satisfying tracks on the disc, like the indie-fied, twee cover of I'm Into Something Good by The Bird and The Bee. And I tend to love Willie Nelson, so I'm a fan of his Sinatra-esque "On the Street Where You Live."

Song of the Day: Amy Winehouse, "Rehab (Hot Chip Remix)"

Have you had enough of Amy Winehouse yet?

Have you had enough of Amy Winehouse yet? I haven't. In fact, I still can't stop listening to "Rehab," the very catchy (and apparently very appropriate) lead single off of her new album, Back to Black.

So, since the bad-girl British songstress just announced plans her North American tour, I thought I'd take this opportunity to post this awesome version of "Rehab" by the remix wizards of Hot Chip. (Remember what they did for the Junior Boys?) The sizzling beat will surely get your fired up for Friday. To listen, read more

Song of the Day: Junior Boys, "In the Morning" (Hot Chip Remix)

"In the Morning," the breakout track from Junior Boys' 2006 album So This Is Goodbye, was one of last year's most unexpectedly sexy songs.

"In the Morning," the breakout track from Junior Boys' 2006 album So This Is Goodbye, was one of last year's most unexpectedly sexy songs. (It even made it onto my songs for gettin' it on playlist.)

But I'm also loving this very different take on the track, remixed by Hot Chip. In the hands of the London electro-indie rockers, "In the Morning" becomes more of a languid, club-suited song with lots of robotic effects and skittish beats. It appears on the forthcoming EP, Dead Horse. The remix should get you psyched for the weekend, so to hear it, read more
