Video: Homeland's Diego Klattenhoff on Mike and Jessica's Romantic Future
Homeland is full of twists and turns each week, and no one knows that better than the show's cast. We spoke with Diego Klattenhoff, who plays Mike, at tonight's SAG Awards red carpet about what it's like to read the new scripts for the first time, and we asked him what we can expect from Mike and Jessica's relationship on the show since Brody is out of the picture for the time being. Hear what Diego had to say!
Homeland Cast Celebrates Globes Win, But Is "Utterly Terrified" for Season 3!
Homeland made a repeat win for best dramatic TV series, and the team made their way back to the Golden Globe Awards press room to celebrate their accomplishment. Damien Lewis was a late arrival and Claire Danes — also a nominee on her own — stuck to her seat. The cast chatted about some of their more controversial scenes and what is next for season three:

On dealing with the Zero Dark Thirty backlash and how that affects Homeland: "We've not come into scrutiny and we have not dealt with the torture issue. Our contacts have been zero dark 30 since the finale."
How tailor-made was the casting? "It absolutely was tailor-made. When we sat down to write the show, we called her Claire. It was one happy accident after another and we are very grateful."
Damien Lewis on being a Brit playing his American character: "I feel extremely lucky. There are a lot of unbelievably talented American actors who could do it justice. It's really a technical issue. Rhythm is more important than actual correct vowel sounds. It's a much flatter sound, the American accent. Once I found that, I felt much more comfortable."
Damien on filming the torture scene: "It actually was a gift. A dancer turned director was in charge and she allowed it to run like a piece of theater. Coming from theater, that was the best and most productive way to work. We were running takes that would last 20-25 minutes long. It was like the theater. That is probably why it has come out as richly as it has."
How does winning this compare with winning last year: "If we were panicked after the first season's success, we are utterly terrified for season three."
Showtime Celebrates Homeland and More at Claire's First Postbaby Event
Showtime stars got together at LA's Chateau Marmont last night to celebrate the network's Golden Globe nominees. The cast of Homeland, including Morena Baccarin, Damien Lewis, Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, and more, toasted their best TV series nomination. It was Claire's first public event since giving birth to son Cyrus last month, and she had husband Hugh Dancy by her side for support. She's also up for best actress at today's big event; make sure to fill out your Golden Globes ballot for the chance to win $1,500 and an iPad mini.
Liev Schreiber, who stars in the network's upcoming Ray Donovan, attended with Naomi Watts, who is in the running for best actress. House of Lies's actor Don Cheadle and Episodes' Matt LeBlanc mingled during the dinner despite being up against each other in the best actor in a TV musical or comedy category. What Did You Think of Homeland's Season Two Premiere?
After almost a year of waiting — and dominating this year's Emmy awards — Homeland is finally back this week with a new season. In the premiere, we meet Carrie and Brody a few months after the events of season one's explosive finale, and Carrie is now semicontentedly living with her sister's family and trying to move on from her life in the CIA. Meanwhile, Brody's political career is on fire, with the presidential candidate Walden informing him that his name is being tossed around to be on the ticket as his VP. I've been so excited to see more of Homeland since the last season wrapped up that I was happy to get anything, but I'm hoping that the next few episodes are as amazing as the first season's. What did you think? Were you happy with the premiere?
Homeland Season Two: See Pictures From the First Two Episodes
Homeland is back tonight, and we've been crazy excited for the series to return, especially since that electrifying preview came out. We now have a look at the pictures from the first couple of episodes, and, as we saw in earlier footage, Carrie is rocking brown hair, and Brody looks the part of a dashing congressman . . . who just so happens to have a big secret. Get pumped for the new season by checking out the photos now.
Damian Lewis "Was Quite Convinced" Bryan Cranston Would Beat Him For the Emmy
In one of this year's biggest Emmy surprises, Damian Lewis beat previous three-time winner Bryan Cranston in the outstanding lead actor in a drama series category for his role on Homeland. Brit Lewis stopped by the press room and admitted that he also thought Cranston was going to win, joking about how he had been catching up with Breaking Bad. He also had cracks about getting romantic with costar Claire Danes, and why so many people have embraced the freshman series Homeland.

On why Homeland is so appealing: "It succeeds in being a thriller, a thrill ride, a white-knuckle ride. It gets people's pulses' racing. And in this show in particular, it's politically resonant, it's politically current, and I think that grounds it in a reality. I think people are responding to it for that reason."
On beating three-time winner Bryan Cranston: "I've just been getting to know Bryan in the circus that is the preawards merry-go-round. What a sweet, lovely, funny man. I love him already. I was quite convinced that he'd be walking up again tonight because I've also been catching up with Breaking Bad. Mostly out of politeness, I just figure I should know what my competitors have been doing. I meant what I said tonight — I don't really think you should judge art. Of course, I'm delighted to be a winner, but I've been to lots of award ceremonies where five guys get nominated and five guys walk away with a little trophy, and that would really be my preference."
On how he and winning costar Claire Danes are going to celebrate: "We're going to go away to a romantic island together, just for the weekend. When that baby's ginger, you guys are going to have a field day."
On whether shooting Homeland has changed his view of the US: "My view of America hadn't really changed. I have great friends here. I love being here. There is a particular polarization between your political landscape at the moment, and I think there's a problem socially between rich and poor. But hey, guess what, it's that way in my country, too. We're all struggling."
The Homeland Cast Talks About Ending Mad Men's Oustanding Drama Streak
Homeland's victory over Mad Men for outstanding drama series was one of the big upsets at the Emmys this year, and star Claire Danes couldn't help but note that it felt nice. The first-time winners were happy to be in the press room, and aside from reveling in the win, star Mandy Patinkin also took time to recognize the cast members, particularly Danes.
Claire Danes, on beating Mad Men for best drama: "We didn't make our show just to undermine them. We're delighted and thrilled and a little startled by this. I don't think anyone was expecting to be recognized in this way right off the bat. But it feels pretty nice."
Mandy Patinkin, on Danes's impressive acting: "Being with Claire has been one of the true gifts of my life. I watch her like I'm a first-grade student trying to figure out how to do it, because it's like a magic trick, watching her. And not just Claire, but the whole company, everyone. Every actor that's in this ensemble, every one behind the camera. It is one of the most glorious companies of people. It is one of the great gifts of all of our lives to be a part of this."
Watch Claire Danes Spill Some Details About Homeland's Second Season
The second season of Homeland starts Sept. 30, and we've already seen a pretty explosive trailer, but Claire Danes also gave more details to David Letterman last night about where we'll pick up. She talks mostly about the aftermath of Carrie's treatment in the finale, but it's also fun to watch her cute exchange with Dave on the matter.
