Frankenweenie

Director Tim Burton makes a triumphant return to animation with Frankenweenie, the story of a young boy and his beloved pet — with a twist. Victor loves Sparky more than anything, and when Sparky passes away, budding scientist Victor miraculously brings a strangely altered version of the pup back to life, much to the horrified surprise of Victor's relatives and peers. The heartwarming tale is perfect for Burton-loving parents to share with their kids. The DVD copy incudes a music video and a Frankenweenie touring exhibit.

House at the End of the Street

Jennifer Lawrence headlines House at the End of the Street, a jumpy but underwhelming horror-thriller. Elissa (Lawrence) has just moved to a new town with her mother, Sarah (Elisabeth Shue). The two share a rocky relationship, and when her mother expresses concern over Elissa's getting close with the boy next door (Max Thieriot), it only draws Elissa closer to him. Sarah has reason to be suspicious: the boy's parents were murdered in cold blood by his sister. The film has some great twists, but it's bogged down by a slow start and a lame main character. The DVD comes with an unrated version.

Kristen styled up a Jenny Packham Fall 2012 look for the night, proving that pantsuits aren't just for tall girls. Watch on to hear more about her outfit in today's Fab Flash. Kristen, Dax, and Bradley Hit the Red Carpet For a Funny Premiere

It was a star-studded red carpet at last night's premiere of Hit and Run at Regal Cinemas in downtown LA. Dax Shepard, who wrote and directed the film, arrived in style with his leading lady, and fiancée, Kristen Bell, by his side. Kristen rocked a black satin jumpsuit, while Bradley Cooper sported a sexy leather jacket. The stars all took time to sign autographs for fans who were lining the streets before joining castmates Jason Bateman, Michael Rosenbaum, Tom Arnold, Ryan Hansen, and Joy Bryant for group photos. It looked like they had a great time filming since their red carpet reunion was filled with plenty of laughter. We asked the stars how Dax stacked up as a director and Ryan jokingly rated him an 8.5, saying, "He's got some work to do," while Bradley simply said, "He's awesome; he's incredible." Bradley also mentioned he'd love to try his hand at directing soon, too.

Dax Shepard

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard Get Cute on Their Movie's Red Carpet

Kristen Bell wore Vanessa Bruno last night to join her fiancé, Dax Shepard, for a GenArt screening of their movie, Hit and Run, at LA's Downtown Independent Theater.

Kristen Bell wore Vanessa Bruno last night to join her fiancé, Dax Shepard, for a GenArt screening of their movie, Hit and Run, at LA's Downtown Independent Theater. The real-life couple worked on the comedy together, along with costars Joy Bryant, Tom Arnold, and Bradley Cooper. Bradley wasn't able to join Kristen, Dax, Tom, and Joy for the question-and-answer session last night, though.

Kristen and Dax are taking their promotional show on the road before its Aug. 24 release. They're going to Michigan's Traverse City Film Festival to show off the movie in early August. The location couldn't be better for a screening, since Traverse City is not far from their mutual hometown of Detroit. The picture's release comes after a big year for Kristen, who starred in the Showtime series House of Lies — find out where she ranked in the 2012 PopSugar 100!

Movie Trailers

See Bradley Cooper in Dreadlocks in the Hit and Run Trailer

The upcoming flick Hit & Run not only stars real-life couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, but apparently it was inspired by their relationship.

The upcoming flick Hit & Run not only stars real-life couple Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, but apparently it was inspired by their relationship. Let's hope they're talking about their dynamic chemistry and not the fact that Shepard plays a bank robber in the movie. The trailer for the comedy starts with the happy couple enjoying their morning together, then quickly gets serious(ish) when a dread-locked thug played by Bradley Cooper shows up at the door with some gangsters and a golf club. Turns out Charlie (Shepard) hasn't been completely candid with his sweetheart about his past as a thief, or the fact that he's in the Witness Protection Program.

I'm fairly intrigued by this trailer, mostly because Shepard and Bell are so cute in real life and it seems to translate well to the big screen. It's also refreshing to see Cooper doing comedy without being his typical Hangover-style douchey characters. The movie comes out on August 22, but check out the trailer when you read more
