Nicole Kidman chose a black-and-white checkered dress for her latest Cannes Film Festival look. She stepped out this morning for a photocall with Hemingway & Gellhorn costar Clive Owen after also promoting The Paperboy. Nicole, Zac Efron, and Matthew McConaughey made multiple stops for their project, including the red-carpet premiere and an appearance on Le Grand Journal. Nicole will be back in the spotlight later today when Hemingway & Gellhorn screens at the Grand Palais. Matthew will also return to the festival's famous carpet for Mud, which also stars Reese Witherspoon. Reese arrived in the South of France with her husband, Jim Toth, just yesterday and we can't wait to see the glamorous looks she chooses for her many events. Nicole, Reese, Zac, and Matthew may all be friendly at the festival, but they're in direct competition for the top spot in the PopSugar 100. Make sure to play the PopSugar 100 faceoff game for the chance to win $2,500 in cash!
Clive Owen reunited with Nicole Kidman on the Northern California set of their HBO miniseries Hemingway and Gellhorn on Monday. They filmed on location in the heart of wine country. Nicole's back in character as Martha Gellhorn, but over the weekend she played the role of supportive, and stunningly beautiful, wife to Keith Urban at the Academy of Country Music Awards. The trip to Las Vegas gave her a break from filming and the opportunity to spend a special day with Sunday Rose at Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. She's been trading lines with Clive in front of the camera for the past few weeks while Keith's been spotted visiting her and their girls, Sunday and new baby Faith, in San Francisco. Despite their hectic schedules Keith recently talked to People about their priorities as parents, "We just have a normal life, we do normal things. . . Family is definitely a priority for us."
Clive Owen accessorized his vest and mustache with a beret yesterday on the San Francisco set of Hemingway and Gellhorn. He's been working alongside his costar Nicole Kidman for the past few weeks after arriving in Northern California earlier this month. Clive got a head start on growing out his facial hair for the role, though, sporting the 'stache in London during February. He's all about his current HBO project, but another of his endeavors will soon hit the big screen — Trust, directed by David Schwimmer, will finally be out in the US on April 1.
Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen were in character yesterday on the San Francisco set of Hemingway and Gellhorn. Both actors have been based in California over the last few weeks as they work on the project, with Clive being spotted around town showing off his controversial mustache. Nicole, meanwhile, is keeping a low profile with her family and getting used to things with new baby Faith — some of their happy home life is on display in Keith Urban's new music video for "Without You." Nicole and Clive will soon have more company on the set, as Lars Ulrich and Robert Duvall have just been added to the cast of the HBO film. Clive has apparently been treating himself to the Bay Area's culinary delights during his time off from work, having reportedly been spotted at hot spots like A16 and Zuni.
Nicole Kidman greeted the day with a morning run then headed over to the set of Hemingway and Gellhorn in San Francisco. She's in Northern California after spending the weekend in LA, where she attended the Independent Spirit Awards and stepped out with her husband, Keith Urban, at the Oscars. Nicole didn't take home the best actress statue, but she and Keith were one of the cutest couples on the star-studded red carpet. Now that award season is over, Nicole's focusing on filming her next project with her latest hot costar Clive Owen.
Nicole Kidman is on a very diverse marriage track — on the big screen, I mean. First, she'll team up with Nicolas Cage in the thriller Trespass, where she and the eccentric actor will play a husband and wife who get kidnapped and taken hostage. Joel Schumacher will direct the action-adventure.
Meanwhile, over on the smaller screen, Kidman will play Martha Gellhorn in Hemingway and Gellhorn, an HBO film about the lives of Hemingway and his wife. Clive Owen is set to portray the legendary writer, while an HBO alum is producing: James Gandolfini.
Besides the marriage angle, the other things these projects have in common is intensity: Trespass has its hostage plotline, while Hemingway and Gellhorn promises to show the famously stormy relationship of Hemingway and fellow novelist Gellhorn. Well, you know what they say: for better or for worse.
