Box Office: Breaking Dawn Breaks the Bank

In news that will surprise no one, Breaking Dawn Part 1 easily won the top spot at the box office with $139.5 million.

In news that will surprise no one, Breaking Dawn Part 1 easily won the top spot at the box office with $139.5 million. The huge sum just barely missed out on making it the biggest Twilight opening ever; that honor still belongs to New Moon, which made $142.7 million in 2009. Breaking Dawn Part 1's opening is still impressive; it's the second-biggest opening weekend in the vampire series, and the fifth biggest opening of all time.

Way back in second place was new release Happy Feet 2 with $22 million, followed by last week's box office winner Immortals with $12.3 million. Adam Sandler's comedy Jack and Jill came in fourth with $12 million, and animated hit Puss in Boots completed the top five with $10.7 million. In limited release, George Clooney's drama The Descendants debuted in 10th with $1.2 million.

Happy Feet 2 Trailer: These Dancing Penguins Will Melt Your Heart

Even if you're not usually charmed by previews for animated family films, I still encourage you to watch the trailer for Happy Feet 2.

Even if you're not usually charmed by previews for animated family films, I still encourage you to watch the trailer for Happy Feet 2. It somehow manages to improve upon the ridiculously cute bringing-fluffy-back first teaser, and now we have Mumble (voiced by Elijah Wood) all grown up with his own penguin babies, and he's trying to get them to love dancing as much as their dear old dad. Cue a huge dance number to "Rhythm Nation" and some highly adorable baby penguins busting a move.

Plot wise, the animals' land suffers from a break in the ice that strands them on a block, but before you start to worry too much about them, "Papa Oom Mow Mow" comes on and you know that everything is going to be fine. And it is more than fine, especially with the added bonus of Matt Damon and Brad Pitt as a pair of adventure and meal-seeking krill. Other notable voices in the cast include Robin Williams, plus Sofia Vergara, Pink, and Hank Azaria. No one is too cool to love this trailer, so watch it when you keep reading.

Happy Feet 2 Trailer: Don't Even Try to Resist Singing Baby Penguins

Whether you loved, loathed, or didn't catch the original Happy Feet, you'll still get a chuckle out of this teaser for the sequel.

Whether you loved, loathed, or didn't catch the original Happy Feet, you'll still get a chuckle out of this teaser for the sequel. In the preview, a group of baby penguins work their dance magic to pop tunes like Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack," only this time it's kid-friendly — encouraging us to "get our fluffy on." Yes, it's completely silly but it also made me giggle like a 4-year-old. The star-studded vocal talents on Happy Feet 2 feature the return of Elijah Wood as Mumble and Robin Williams as Lovelave, along with newcomers like Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Sofia Vergara.

Robin Williams and Elijah Wood Getting Happy Again

Ready for some more Arctic cuteness?

Ready for some more Arctic cuteness? Good, because there's a sequel to animated penguin film Happy Feet on the way, with Robin Williams and Elijah Wood in talks to reprise their roles.

In Happy Feet 2, Williams will again voice Ramon and Lovelace, while Wood will voice main character Mumble. There aren't any script or plot details yet, but I can already envision Mumble and Gloria showing their baby penguins how to sing and dance. Hopefully, the sequel lives up to the original — the sweet film was not just a visual treat, it won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2006.
