Memories of Sophie and Gracie: Controversial Artist Dedicates Sculpture to Oprah's Deceased Dogs

When I first saw this, it took a couple minutes before I could even say anything.

When I first saw this, it took a couple minutes before I could even say anything. You're looking at a life-size monument depicting deceased pups, Gracie and Sophie, atop the head of Oprah Winfrey. Called "Memories of Sophie and Gracie: A Puppies' Memorial," the sculpture was designed by Daniel Edwards. Now his name sounded familiar to me, but I couldn't quite place it, so I googled him up – lo and behold, he's the same controversial sculptor who created that statue of Britney Spears giving birth on the bearskin rug. If you're interested in checking it out up close, it will be displayed at NYC's Leo Kesting Gallery from May 22 - June 8. Movie Preview: Gracie

Elisabeth Shue starred in some of the most iconic movies of my youth, like The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting and Cocktail.

Elisabeth Shue starred in some of the most iconic movies of my youth, like The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting and Cocktail. In the later years of her career, however, she hasn't scored too many great roles, so I'm eager to check out Gracie, which was written by Shue's brother Andrew, and which is based on the Shue family's real history. Opening this Friday, June 1, Gracie takes place in 1978 and follows a teenage girl who, after her brother's tragic death, fights to take his place on the all-boys competitive soccer team. Carly Schroeder plays Grace, Elisabeth Shue plays her mother and Dermot Mulroney has the role of Grace's gruff father. To see the trailer, read more
