After looking through PopSugar's photos of Hollywood couples locking lips, we were feeling inspired to show some of our favorite smooches from 2010 as well — the ones from the big screen. Which Movie Romance Is the Best of 2010?
Isn't it amazing how an onscreen couple can set our hearts aflutter? What to Rent: New DVDs This Week
Whether you're looking for romance, action, or a little bit of both, this week's new DVDs will keep you entertained. Along with these three releases, you can also rent Vampires Suck and The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Out on DVD this Saturday, the third installment in the Twilight franchise picks up as Victoria prepares her army of newborn vampires to destroy Bella. In order to protect her, rivals Jacob and Edward must ban together and put their differences aside (even though Edward and Bella's recent engagement is an obvious thorn in Jacob's side). Many critics called the film the best of the series so far, thanks to sharp fight scenes and CGI. Fans should choose the Special Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo version, which includes deleted scenes, audio commentary with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, a 90-minute making-of documentary, photo gallery, music videos, and more.
Going the Distance
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long star as a new couple trying to keep up a long distance relationship on separate coasts. When they're not texting or using Skype, they're receiving unsolicited advice from their friends (Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis) and family (Christina Applegate). Though romantic comedies are often a dime a dozen, this one is charming, relatable, and surprisingly non-sappy. DVD extras include deleted scenes, but the Blu-ray also features interviews with the cast about the dos and don'ts of long distance, and advice on how to have the perfect date.

Resident Evil Has a Healthy Afterlife at the Box Office
No wonder Resident Evil's Alice is in the running for most kickass female character of all time. Resident Evil: Afterlife scored big at the box office, taking in $27.7 million in its opening weekend. It completely smoked Takers and last week's champ, The American. Those films took a distant second and third place with $6.1 and $5.8 million, respectively.

Rounding up the lackluster weekend was Machete, which grossed $4.2 million and Going the Distance with $3.8 million. I'd say the Summer of blockbusters is officially over, so let's bring on those exciting new Fall movies!
Box Office: The American Waves Its Flag at Number One
George Clooney proved that he's still got it as his newly-released movie The American took the number one spot at the box office with 12.9 million over Labor Day weekend. Nipping at its heels was box office surprise Takers, which finished at second with $11.5 million (it pulled off a similar feat last weekend).
Robert Rodriguez's campy Machete managed to land in the third place with an $11.3 million haul, followed by last week's No. one, The Last Exorcism (which earned $7.6 million). The Drew Barrymore/Justin Long romantic comedy Going the Distance didn't quite go the distance with a mere $6.9 million, but it did round out the top five.
Going the Distance Style: Erin
In this very romantic scene from Going the Distance, Drew Barrymore's character, Erin, gets up close and personal with Justin Long's character. Avert your eyes from the action and peep her very cute outfit: cropped railroad-stripe jeans, floral blouse, striped socks, and plaid shoes. Certainly an eclectic look, but cute nonetheless. Shop it all now.
Going the Distance Style: Corinne
While talking to her sister Erin (played by Drew Barrymore), Corinne (Christina Applegate) lounges outside in a casual, comfy look. From the purple bandana to the floral cardigan and the double layer of tanks, the whole outfit is perfect for a Sunday morning spent doing the Times crossword. Get the look with these similar pieces.
Watch, Pass, or Rent: The American and Going the Distance
Labor Day weekend is practically begging for at least one movie outing, so if you're planning on hitting up the theater, check out what we have to say about new releases The American and Going the Distance. Watch now!
