Liam Hemsworth got to work on Empire State in Queens, New York, on Saturday. He traveled to the East Coast on Friday, while fiancée Miley Cyrus stayed behind in LA and shared a pool day with her pup Ziggy. Liam did have the company of costar Michael Angarano on set, though, and the duo filmed scenes in a vintage car. Production on the drama started in New Orleans in June, just after news of Liam's engagement to Miley was announced. She visited him in Louisiana, and later last month, they were reunited in LA, where they hit the red carpet for the first time as an engaged couple at the Australians in Film Breakthrough Awards.
Liam Hemsworth Gets to Work and Receives Some Marriage Advice
Liam Hemsworth was back to work in a police uniform today on the New Orleans set of Empire State. Liam's been wearing a variety of vintage looks for the '80s-era film, but his new fiancée, Miley Cyrus, is sporting something new — her engagement ring. She arrived in New Orleans last week on the heels of her and Liam's exciting news. Miley's family is "thrilled" about the wedding, and other celebrities have weighed in with encouraging words. Even Jada Pinkett Smith had advice for Miley and Liam, saying, "Learn how to be friends, especially when you are starting that young . . . You have to be with someone you consider as a friend."
Miley and Liam are clearly in sync with their day-to-day activities, but they're going head-to-head in the PopSugar 100! Be sure to play the PopSugar 100 faceoff game and vote for Miley, Liam, and all your other favorite stars.
Liam Hemsworth Shows Engagement Excitement on Set
Liam Hemsworth had a lot to smile about on set in New Orleans today — he got engaged to Miley Cyrus last week! Liam proposed with a 3.5-carat ring, having dated Miley since 2009. Miley and Liam have had many cute moments in their three years together, including red carpet appearances and couple's getaways. Now that the news is public, Miley took to Twitter to write, "Thank you for all the love today. I'm happy to share this news with you all. I feel like all my dreams are coming true. Have a great day." It looks like Liam will be juggling wedding planning with work in the coming months since he's currently filming Empire State and will get back to his Hunger Games role at the end of the Summer.

TV Casting News: Busy Philipps, Chris O'Donnell, Amy Acker
As pilot season rolls on in LA, I've got a whole bunch of new TV castings to report. Of course, this week's big news is Brittany Snow getting offered the lead in the Gossip Girl spinoff, but there's much more going on. A few highlights:
- The cast for Courteney Cox's ABC comedy Cougar Town has filled out a bunch this week: Busy Philipps will play Cox's friend and coworker in the show, while adorable Aliens in America star Dan Byrd will play Cox's son. Brian Van Holt will play Cox's ex, described simply as "a loser."
- Chris O'Donnell is officially on board for the NCIS spinoff. He'll join LL Cool J.
- Angel alum Amy Acker has joined the cast of ABC's murder mystery Happy Town, playing the wife of Geoff Stults's character.
- David Morse and Michael Nouri will play blue collar and blueblood fathers in ABC's Empire State, about a modern-day Romeo and Juliet-esque couple.
- Derek Luke and Kevin Rankin (Herc from Friday Night Lights!) will play a doctor and a paramedic on NBC's Trauma. Jamey Sheridan is among others in talks to join the cast.
