Every mama needs a night out — a night to trade in the flats for sky-high heels, the yoga pants for a stunning gown, and the ponytail for some blown-out tresses. For Hollywood's hottest mamas (and moms-to-be) and most talented stars, that night was tonight, as they took an evening off from bath duty to attend the Emmy Awards. From an expectant Claire Danes to experienced moms like Julianne Moore and Tina Fey, take a look at how our favorite celeb moms dressed up for their night on the town!

Claire Danes showed off her baby bump in a canary yellow Lanvin gown on the red carpet at the Emmys in LA tonight. She's nominated for her work in Homeland, and the Showtime show is up for outstanding drama series. Claire is pulling double-duty this evening since she's also set to be a presenter. Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Mindy Kaling will take the stage to hand out awards as well. The Emmys party got started early at a special reception for writer nominees last night at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Downton Abbey was well-represented with Joanne Froggatt, Michelle Dockery, and Brendan Coyle. Jessica Paré, meanwhile, was on hand supporting Mad Men. Both programs earned multiple nods at this year's Emmys. Downton's earned a nomination for outstanding drama series, as well as six acting honors. Michelle's in contention for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, Joanne's up for outstanding supporting actress, and Brendan's up for outstanding supporting actor. Mad Men, the outstanding drama series for four years running, could win a fifth time. It's also up in eight other categories.

Last night's Emmy Awards show took place at LA's Nokia Theater, with Modern Family leading the pack by garnering five wins during the telecast alone! Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen received accolades for their individual performances, and they took their newly acquired gold into the press room. More stars who were honored for their work answered questions from reporters, including Mildred Pierce's Kate Winslet and Guy Pearce, The Good Wife's Julianna Marguiles, and Mike and Molly's Melissa McCarthy. Series winners Mad Men and Modern Family had their whole casts up on the podium to chat about their wins. Actors from the AMC show admitted to missing new mom January Jones, who skipped the big night, since she just welcomed son Xander a few days ago. Show creator Matthew Weiner said, "She's home with her baby, John Slattery says. Her baby had his fingers crossed, she told me that. And she said it was really weird that we were going to be here without her, and we miss her terribly."
