Drew Carey Bids $100,000 For @Drew Twitter Handle

In an effort to raise money for cancer research, Twitter user Drew Olanoff is auctioning off his sought-after "@Drew" Twitter name.

In an effort to raise money for cancer research, Twitter user Drew Olanoff is auctioning off his sought-after "@Drew" Twitter name. An early adopter to Twitter, Drew was able to secure the @Drew username before anyone else had the chance to snag it.

Drew Carey, the host of The Price Is Right, has decided to get in on the action and is willing to bid $100,000 if he can get 100,000 followers by Nov. 9. Right now Carey has close to 35,000 followers on his personal @DrewFromTV account, so we shall see if he meets his goal by next month. Considering that this is for a really great cause — unlike the CNN/Ashton Kutcher Twitter competition — I think we should all head on over to Twitter right now and follow Drew.

Richard Simmons: Comedic Creepmeister

Who knew that everyone's favorite spazoid in daisy dukes was a wise guy, too?

Who knew that everyone's favorite spazoid in daisy dukes was a wise guy, too? Richard Simmons made a guest appearance on Whose Line Is It Anyway? and flexed his comedic muscles for the camera. He was well received by the crowd, but I think the other comics on stage were creeped and scarred by the whole ordeal. And by "ordeal," I mean hypersexual, obnoxious nightmare.

The Price Is Drew Carey's Dignity

Oh Bob Barker, why did you have to retire and leave us with Drew Carey and his off-color jokes about situations we would never in a million showcase showdowns want to imagine him in?

Oh Bob Barker, why did you have to retire and leave us with Drew Carey and his off-color jokes about situations we would never in a million showcase showdowns want to imagine him in? The contestants on The Price Is Right are allowed to be obnoxious, not the host! Note to Drew: Keep the wet dreams between you and your blankie.

Do You Use a Bluetooth Headset?

Last week comedian and new host of The Price is Right Drew Carey talked to Parade about his love for his iPhone and compared getting a new phone to sex.

Last week comedian and new host of The Price is Right Drew Carey talked to Parade about his love for his iPhone and compared getting a new phone to sex. While I couldn't agree with him on that point, I did agree with him regarding his take on Bluetooth: It's uncomfortable. Or as Drew put it:

"I don’t have a Bluetooth thing on my ear. That bugs me. I got one when I got my phone. You put it in, and you look at yourself in the mirror. And you’re like, ‘Nope, not me. I’m not going to do it. I’m not wearing one of those stupid things in my ear.’"

I know plenty of stores sold fancy Bluetooth units on Black Friday and I recognize that it's probably the safest option for talking on your phone while driving, but I never use my headset. Am I alone on this one?

Drew Carey Compares New Phones to Sex

Comedian and new host of The Price is Right Drew Carey graces the cover of this Sunday’s special technology issue of PARADE, where he reveals he loves his iPhone and compares getting a new phone to getting connected physically.

Comedian and new host of The Price is Right Drew Carey graces the cover of this Sunday’s special technology issue of PARADE, where he reveals he loves his iPhone and compares getting a new phone to getting connected physically. Here's more:

"Getting a new phone is like having sex for the first time: You figure it out and then spend the rest of the evening just playing around. Hey, I can do this and I can do that. Let me show you again. Look how great this is. I’m obsessed with my iPhone. I love being able to whip it out and show people pictures.”

Carey says that technology has even improved his love life, a claim Justin Timberlake also made earlier this year. Apparently, when he and his fiancée are in different cities, they go on dates in Second Life. “We could just talk on the phone, but we meet online instead,” he says. “It’s fun.”

Drew Carey Comes On Down Today

The Price Is Right starts its 36th season today with a whole new look — and, of course, a whole new host. Drew Carey is now at the head of contestants' row following Bob Barker's retirement this spring, and I'm curious to see how he does with one of the most iconic jobs on TV.

Carey isn't the only thing new about this season of Price. To usher in the new era, the show has a new logo (which still looks refreshingly 1970s) and a colorful new backdrop. But all the other important things — like, say, Plinko — are still in place. Plus, this fall's contestants apparently get the shot at winning some of the most expensive cars ever given away on the show.

It's going to be hard not to compare Carey and Barker — but here's hoping Carey can make this new era of Price his own. To watch a clip from the first show with one very excitable contestant, just read more

Here's a clip from Drew Carey's debut season on "The Price Is Right," and let's just say he's no Bob Barker. The following contestant, however, could entertain for hours. She cries that she needs to go to the bathroom, she grabs her crotch, she hoots and howls. Daytime TV is clearly making strides.
