David Fincher May Direct Gone Girl — Love It or Leave It?

Chances are that if you were one of the many readers who gobbled up last Summer's bestseller Gone Girl, you're now salivating for any kind of movie news — and we've got some today.

Chances are that if you were one of the many readers who gobbled up last Summer's bestseller Gone Girl, you're now salivating for any kind of movie news — and we've got some today. David Fincher is in talks to direct Gone Girl, and we have to admit it makes sense; the Oscar-nominated director has helmed other dark, psychologically complex films like Fight Club and Zodiac, not to mention adaptations like The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

While we're still dying to find out who will be cast in the movie (and we have a lot of ideas for who could play Nick and Amy), we're pretty excited about the idea of Fincher taking on Gone Girl. We want to hear from you, too, though. Do you think Fincher is a good choice to head up the big-screen version?

Rooney Mara Toasts Sony's Nominations With Sacha, Jodie, and Jonah

Sony Pictures also played host to a Golden Globes bash last night!

Sony Pictures also played host to a Golden Globes bash last night! The stars from the company's many films got together to raise their glasses in honor of their many nominees. Rooney Mara of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo had been nominated for best actress in a drama, an honor that ultimately went to The Iron Lady's Meryl Streep. She nonetheless mingled with Sony execs and sipped champagne at the bash in her dark Nina Ricci gown. Moneyball's best supporting actor contender Jonah Hill said hello to Sacha Baron Cohen, who was out supporting Hugo and its best director winner Martin Scorsese. A Dangerous Method best supporting actor nom Viggo Mortensen was in a great mood while talking about Spanish soccer, and Jodie Foster hung out with her sons Christopher and Charlie.

Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara continued their worldwide press tour for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo with a photocall in Berlin today. Rooney showed skin in a two-piece Miu Miu outfit while Daniel once again sported his yellow-laced sneakers. The costars were joined by director David Fincher in front of the cameras, just as they have been for their last three stops. Yesterday's Madrid premiere brought another special guest with Daniel and Rachel Weisz's first red carpet. It was the first time Rachel stepped out to support her husband since they tied the knot last June, and the couple looked more than happy to pose side by side.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz Make Their Red Carpet Debut!

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Daniel Craig made his first red carpet appearance with wife Rachel Weisz this evening at his Madrid premiere!

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo star Daniel Craig made his first red carpet appearance with wife Rachel Weisz this evening at his Madrid premiere! He and Rachel have tried to stay out of the limelight since marrying in upstate New York over the Summer. It seems they may be changing their approach to publicity, since they were arm in arm while walking past photographers!

Joining the happy couple for the event was Daniel's costar Rooney Mara. Rooney's press tour wardrobe has featured lots of black, edgy dresses, but today's look was a big change. Rooney wore a tan, silk gown that was almost demure! Director David Fincher turned out too, having also been in France yesterday with Rooney and Daniel.

Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara Take Dragon Tattoo to Spain

Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig brought their The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo tour to Madrid this morning for a photocall. The leading man and woman were in Spain after last night's premiere of the blockbuster in Paris. Daniel Craig and wife Rachel Weisz touched down in France just ahead of the screening, but she's so far skipped out on attending any of his press events. Daniel and Rooney were joined today, though, by their director David Fincher. The trio have been enjoying the box office success of Dragon Tattoo back in the States, where it came out on Dec. 20.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Trailer: Intense Is an Understatement

The teaser for the English-language version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has leaked, and it's harrowing, violent, and intense, but boy does it look amazing.

The teaser for the English-language version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo has leaked, and it's harrowing, violent, and intense, but boy does it look amazing. David Fincher directed this adaptation of Stieg Larsson's book, which has Rooney Mara as the titular character, Lisbeth Salander, the pierced and fiercely private computer hacker. Daniel Craig plays journalist Mikael Blomkvist, and though the teaser has no dialogue, the cast seems perfectly up to snuff.

Set to Trent Reznor and Karen O's cover of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song," we just get flashes of the story following Blomkvist and Salander's investigation into the disappearance of a member of the mysterious Vanger family years earlier. There's also lots of action, blood, and hints at the the story's more disturbing scenes, plus the ominous promise that this is "The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas." Not that it'll deter anyone, because this first look at the film makes it look truly insane — and I mean that in the best way possible.

UPDATE: Sony has released a green-band version of the trailer, which is a little less violent, but still intense. Watch it when you read more

First Look: Rooney Mara Is The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Filming is underway for David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and W magazine scored the first look at Rooney Mara all done up as Lisbeth Salander.

Filming is underway for David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and W magazine scored the first look at Rooney Mara all done up as Lisbeth Salander. Right off the bat, Mara looks a little sexier than the Swedish version of Lisbeth (and I certainly don't remember that huge "Salander" tattoo across her chest from the book).

This photo isn't the only peek inside the movie, either: Director Fincher opens up about his vision, how it will differ from the books, and why it was so hard to find the perfect actress to play Lisbeth. Most notably, the article points out that the ending of the film will be totally different than that of the book — but will it be better?

I found that the novel's ending tied up the story quite nicely, but I'm intrigued about screenwriter's Steven Zaillian's take. So, Dragon Tattoo fans, how do you feel about Mara in all that black leather? And are you ready for a different final act?

Rooney Mara Will Play the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Finally! After months of speculation, Sony has picked an actress for the coveted role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

Finally! After months of speculation, Sony has picked an actress for the coveted role of Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Rooney Mara (Kate Mara's lil sis) has just signed a three-picture deal for the franchise, which is set to begin filming next month.

Mara most recently appeared in Youth in Revolt and A Nightmare on Elm Street, but this should be her breakthrough role if all goes according to plan.

Mara wasn't your top choice for the role when I polled you about the contenders last month, but now that it's set in stone, can you see her opposite Daniel Craig?
