Nathan Fillion may have risen to science fiction fame and glory in the gone-before-its-time show Firefly, it's his role as a crime solving novelist that found him award glory last night at the People's Choice Awards. The prolific Twitterer was selected as Favorite TV Drama Actor by the voting fans.

If you aren't already a devoted Castle, Firefly and Nathan fan in general, here's why you should catch up on our favorite geek.

  1. Upping the nerd appeal, Nathan has voiced characters in Justice League Unlimited, King of the Hill, and the Halo video games.
  2. He's a Game of Thrones fan!
  3. He isn't afraid to show his emotions for science fiction films. In a recent interview, Nathan admitted to crying when watching A.I.
  4. He's a believer in renewable energy. He used his star power to bring awareness to the Arcimoto car, an electric car prototype.

Modern Family

Grey's Anatomy, Modern Family, and 4 More ABC Shows Renewed

It's ABC's time to shine at the Winter TCA, and the network kicked off the day by announcing the pickup of six series.

It's ABC's time to shine at the Winter TCA, and the network kicked off the day by announcing the pickup of six series. It's no shocker that rating hits like Grey's Anatomy and Modern Family will be coming back, along with The Middle, Private Practice, and Castle. I was also delighted to see that Cougar Town will be getting a third season.

As for shows that are still in the lurch? The jury is still out on aging series like Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters, plus freshman series like Better With You.

What do you think of the early pickups? Did your favorite make the cut?

TV Tonight: Fall TV Takes Off With New and Returning Shows!

Fall TV has been slowly trickling in over the past two weeks, but tonight it turns things up full blast with an onslaught of returning shows and new soon-to-be favorites!

Fall TV has been slowly trickling in over the past two weeks, but tonight it turns things up full blast with an onslaught of returning shows and new soon-to-be favorites! Let's break it down: ABC's Dancing With the Stars comes back with a fresh cast followed by Castle, NBC will reveal last season's cliffhanger (Chuck's mom!) on Chuck, and we'll see how the romance between Cuddy and House is working out on FOX's House. Plus, there's How I Met Your Mother's premiere with Rachel Bilson.

As if that wasn't enough to keep you busy, there's also added competition, as the networks unveil new programming. Three of my five Fall must sees bow this evening, including CBS's Hawaii Five-0, NBC's The Event, and FOX's Lone Star with dreamy heartthrob James Wolk. They'll be accompanied by fellow newbies Mike & Molly and Chase (featuring a brand-new kickass female character).

Whew! I know it's going to be hard to keep track of everything — especially with so many shows competing in the same time slots — so make sure to download my official TV calendar to keep it all straight (my head is practically spinning already!). What will you watch tonight?

House Tour: Austin's Bouldin Castle

Do you fancy yourself a princess?

Do you fancy yourself a princess? Do you have a hankering for clover-shaped designs? If you are affirmative on either of those, you may very well like this little piece of heaven deep in the heart of Texas. Originally constructed in 1925 as the San José Catholic Church in Austin, the mission style home was renovated in 2008 by Urban Nature and put on the market to many shoppers' delight.

While many homes certainly have a spirit about them, this one has a name to go with it. Titled the Bouldin Castle, it boasts arched doorways, stacked limestone, magical chandeliers, royal grounds, and a refreshing lap pool. Adding to the stately yet gothic ambiance are ebony floors that contrast dreamily against the alabaster walls. It hardly seems necessary to bring much interior design to these digs as the bones are so dramatically pleasing on their own. I, however, would definitely be up for the task! Unfortunately, it's no longer for sale (someone got lucky!) but we can still peruse the lovely gem and dream of living there happily ever after.
