Natalie Portman Wears Stripes to Toast Her Black Swan Director
Natalie Portman's cute striped sweater dress covered up her growing pregnancy belly as she posed with her Black Swan director, Darren Aronofsky, at an event in his honor in NYC this afternoon. She just returned to the East Coast following a stay in LA, where she picked up a SAG award and attended a pre-Oscars luncheon. Natalie also made time to go hiking with friends in the sunny weather, though now she's back to chilly walks in the Big Apple with her fiancé, Benjamin Millepied. She'll soon return to the West Coast for the Oscars, which are on Feb. 27 — don't forget to fill out BuzzSugar's ballot for a chance to win a Samsung TV!
Natalie Portman Talks Dressing Her Baby Bump and Being "Drawn to the World of Dance" at the Oscars Nominee Luncheon
Natalie Portman looked beautiful wearing a teal, empire waist dress and red satin pumps in the interview room at today's 83rd Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon in LA. The expecting and engaged best actress nominee was quick to remind people what awards season is really all about, though, when one reporter asked what she might wear to the Oscars. "It’s certainly all about leaving space for growth, but is always surprising, also, that that’s become the conversation instead of the movies now: what you are wearing."
Talk soon turned to Natalie's critically acclaimed work when an Oscars fan on Facebook asked why she chose her Black Swan role. "I think I was really drawn to the world of dance itself. I always just thought it such a compelling expression through movement not through words," she said. "There's something very internal and true about dance as a mode of expression, and this character finding her artistic voice was something I was really interested by, where men are the directors and women are the stars in a very controlled way. So to find this woman kind of breaking out of that was very interesting to me."

BuzzWorthy Videos: Kids Spoof the Oscar Best Picture Nominees!
Watch out, Jesse Eisenberg. You may have an Oscar nomination to your name, but a little boy is gunning for your job. The folks over at AOL have released a collection of videos featuring kids reenacting several Oscar best picture contenders. Among the selected films: The Social Network, 127 Hours, The King's Speech, Black Swan, and The Fighter (complete with unintelligible Boston accents, of course). The little clips are especially funny if you've seen all of the films, but even if you haven't, you'll still chuckle at the kids' cuteness. Take a look!

Rodarte Is Ineligible For an Oscar Nomination For Black Swan
>> Rodarte's Laura and Kate Mulleavy created 40 ballet costumes, plus all of Natalie Portman's knitwear and dresses, for Black Swan, but don't expect them to receive any nod from Oscar. If anyone gets an Oscar nomination for costuming the film, it will be Black Swan costume designer Amy Westcott, who received the "costumes by" front credit. The Mulleavys didn't negotiate a credit as part of their initial deal, and they weren't members of the Costume Designers Guild at the time (only guild members are eligible for nominations, and the sisters have since joined). The Mulleavys recently said they're open to more film costuming opportunities, however. [The Hollywood Reporter via Fashionista]
