About Time Trailer: Time Travelers Just Love Rachel McAdams

Isn't it about time we had another sweet time-travel romance?

Isn't it about time we had another sweet time-travel romance? The trailer for UK comedy About Time has debuted, and it looks pretty darn cute. The movie stars Domhnall Gleeson (aka Bill Weasley of the Harry Potter series) as Tim, a man who discovers time traveling is in his genes. He goes back and finds love with none other than The Time Traveler's Wife herself, Rachel McAdams.

I love Bill Nighy as Tim's wise father, and Gleeson has an adorable innocence to him, but I am starting to get a little weary of seeing McAdams doing her romantic lead schtick. I will say the accompanying track, "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men, is a nice touch. The movie opens in limited release on Nov. 1 and wide release on Nov. 8. Check out the trailer after the jump.

Nicholas Hoult Is "Really Excited" to Get Back to Work With Ex Jennifer Lawrence

Nicholas Hoult was joined by his costar Eleanor Tomlinson at the premiere of Jack the Giant Slayer in LA last night.

Nicholas Hoult was joined by his costar Eleanor Tomlinson at the premiere of Jack the Giant Slayer in LA last night. Eleanor wore a shimmering Azzaro gown as she and Nicholas posed for photos with their costars Bill Nighy and Stanley Tucci. Stanley walked down the green carpet with wife Felicity Blunt.

It's been a busy Winter for Nicholas, who premiered his other film Warm Bodies in January. At that premiere, Nicholas said he was "very proud" of ex-girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence, who was at the time in the middle of her award season sweep. The two will be reuniting soon for the next X-Men movie. Nicholas recently said that he's "really excited" to get back to work with Jennifer and the rest of the cast on the upcoming flick, which is expected to hit theaters next year.

Emily Blunt Hits the Mark in This Trailer For Wild Target

Shout-out to PopSugar UK, because I'm counting this as yet another reason to love the Brits (right behind the original version of The Office and Cat Deeley).

Shout-out to PopSugar UK, because I'm counting this as yet another reason to love the Brits (right behind the original version of The Office and Cat Deeley). May I present the trailer for Wild Target, a new crime caper starring a very talented English cast, including Emily Blunt, Bill Nighy, Rupert Grint, Rupert Everett, and Martin Freeman.

The story follows a hitman (Nighy) hired to take out a gorgeous conwoman (Blunt) — until he gets swept up in her antics and switches sides. Everett plays Nighy's mob client, Freeman is the guy who takes over the assignment, and Grint is a mentee of sorts who joins Nighy and Blunt on their bumbling journey. Got all that?

I love a good cat-and-mouse game, especially one that looks as charming as this (and hey, Ron Weasley fans, he's shirtless — if you're into that sort of thing). My only gripe: the film is set to release in the UK this June, with no US date just yet. Start your Facebook campaign, but first, take a look at the trailer when you read more

Katie and the Women of Hollywood Celebrate With Elle

The Elle Women in Hollywood Awards brought out some of the town's biggest names last night.

The Elle Women in Hollywood Awards brought out some of the town's biggest names last night. The ceremony was held to coincide with the magazine's similarly themed upcoming issue, and cover girl Katie Holmes hit the cream carpet to show her support. Apparently Suri helped Katie select her all-black outfit, and the proud mom even opened up about their adventures in Boston. Katie commented that, "She loves clothes and picks out her own. . . . She loves running and she loves dancing." Cat Deeley and Robin Wright also opted for dark dresses, while Renee Zellweger, Diane Kruger, and Emily Blunt lightened things up a bit.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski made another appearance together after their weekend trip to the Mill Valley Film Festival, as the happy engaged couple gets more comfortable stepping out side by side. She said a few words onstage before posing for photos with the evening's host, Alec Baldwin. Renee Zellweger flashed a big smile, perhaps due to her romantic few days in Vancouver with Bradley Cooper. Robin Wright mingled with Benicio del Toro, as the ladies got together to enjoy fun company and champagne.

Movie Preview: Astro Boy

Back at Comic-Con I was treated to a sneak peek at Astro Boy, Summit's CG-animated film based on the Japanese TV series.

Back at Comic-Con I was treated to a sneak peek at Astro Boy, Summit's CG-animated film based on the Japanese TV series. At the time, the movie was overshadowed by New Moon anticipation, but I finally got a chance to see the cool, futuristic trailer without distraction.

Freddie Highmore voices the title character, a boy robot who's been engineered to perfection with all kinds of fun gadgets. Things seem to be going fine for Astro and his pals (including Cora, voiced by Kristen Bell) until the evil Dr. Elefun (Bill Nighy) decides the robo-boy would be a perfect addition to his army. Just like geeksugar, I've got a soft spot for robots, so I'm diggin' this pint-sized superhero. Check out the trailer and let me know if you agree.

Keira Knightley looked lovely in her white dress with black accessories at the Young Victoria afterparty in London last night. Keira was at the premiere to support her boyfriend Rupert Friend, who had his costar Emily Blunt on his arm on the red carpet. Keira has a few of her own new movies to look forward to — she'll be playing a cloned girl in Never Let Me Go after costarring with Colin Farrell in London Boulevard.

Movie Preview: The Boat That Rocked

Sometimes you come across a movie trailer that makes you chuckle or cry a little or gets your heart racing, but the trailer for The Boat That Rocked just plain makes me happy.

Sometimes you come across a movie trailer that makes you chuckle or cry a little or gets your heart racing, but the trailer for The Boat That Rocked just plain makes me happy. With a ridiculously fun cast that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, and Nick Frost (among many others), and an equally fun premise (a group of "rogue" DJs standing up to the British government in the '60s? Yes, please) this comedy looks like it's right up my alley.

The Boat That Rocked opens in the UK in May; no US release info just yet. To watch the trailer, read more

Valkyrie: Shallow and Underwhelming

While there are a zillion World War II movies out there already, I kept an open mind going into the Tom Cruise star vehicle Valkyrie.

While there are a zillion World War II movies out there already, I kept an open mind going into the Tom Cruise star vehicle Valkyrie. Sure, this is a movie that has been dogged by bad press from start to finish (even due, in part, to the fact that Cruise is a Scientologist) but I can see that there is a fascinating movie to be made out of a German resistance movement involving Nazi officers in Adolf Hitler's inner circle.

High-ranking, aristocratic officers attempting to assassinate Hitler? There's so much to explore here! Were these men heroes? Or was it a desperate and calculated power grab when it was clear the Germans were losing the war? What did these men know about the mass murders of Jews that had taken place and when did they know it? Did any of them, including Claus von Stauffenberg (Cruise) who led one of the most daring plots to kill Hitler, have a genuine crisis of conscience? And if so, what does that kind of moral awakening look like?

In a war that is often depicted very starkly as good vs. evil, within the German rank and file there were shades of gray and this makes for interesting psychological thriller fodder for sure. So why did Cruise and director Bryan Singer forego that kind of film in favor of a totally reductive, shallow, glossy, big-budget flick that will leave you feeling underwhelmed and a little icky because you just spent over an hour rooting for Nazis? I really don't know, but let's talk about it. Just read more

Johnny Says Pirates May Ride Again

Johnny and Orlando seem to be just fine promoting Pirates without Keira, even if Johnny keeps insisting on wearing wacky spectacles.

Johnny and Orlando seem to be just fine promoting Pirates without Keira, even if Johnny keeps insisting on wearing wacky spectacles. At the moment they're in Japan, charming their faithful followers back into the theaters. Johnny seems to love Pirates just as much as we do and says he's open to doing another one. As for this installment, he says "It's been a great experience trying to discover who Captain Jack was, getting slapped around by the Disney people — it was all fun."
