Best of the Decade

This month we looked back at the highlights of the '00s. We examined the words that conjure up images of popular culture (just) gone by, celebrated our favorite female writers, and got inspired by 10 preeminent women of the decade.

But it wasn't all pretty. We had to say goodbye to our favorite magazines that folded over the last 10 years, and we also looked back on some of the more unfortunate trends of the new millennium.

After rounding up all these best and worst moments, we asked you all to weigh in. Here are the results of those polls!

As a new decade inches closer, I'm still reminiscing about all the highs and lows in the entertainment industry over the past 10 years. Now that I've shared my favorite movies, TV shows, and albums, here's a list that's a little more personal: my biggest guilty pleasures. Truth be told there are many indulgences beyond this list, but here's a little compilation of some of my favorites in the sillier side of entertainment. Each month we bring you the best new books with the Must Reads, but we rarely talk about the writers behind them. Check out some of our favorite contemporary female writers of the decade, and vote on your favorite at the end.

The '00s gave us the forever-evolving, instantly gratifying Internet, but not without hacking away at our beloved magazines. From 2000 through 2009, we watched some of our favorite glossies make one last print run. And as much as we love the Internet, it will never tie pop culture up each month, wrap it in plastic, and wait, to thrill us, in our mailboxes. Take a look at the 10 magazines we miss, and vote on the one you miss the most.

Without the designers who defined the decade, the models of the decade would be naked. Here are 15 renegades who stand out as artisans and advocates of our favorite industry. These are the tastemakers, trendsetters, troublemakers. Men and women, singles and duos, inspiration oozes out of these individuals, from their fingers, onto the paper, into the fabric, and, eventually, onto the runway. We salute you. Here's to another stellar decade!

We're a week away from the end of the decade, and it's amazing how far the celebrity world has come since Y2K! From the rise of reality television, gossip, and the Internet to the biggest breakups, babies and sagas we all love, it was so hard to narrow down the biggest stories to just 10. We've been looking at all the highlights from the year and decade across the network. We hope you enjoy this look back at the past 10 years and the fun art we have to go with it!

Ten years ago green was just a color, overshare was gibberish, and douche only had one meaning. These ideas have penetrated society over the decade, and now we'd like to send them off. We wish them well in their future 15-second spots on I Love the '00s.
