Keira Knightley and Jude Law stepped out for the world premiere of Anna Karenina at London's Leichester Square today. Keira got glamorous in a white Chanel Couture gown while Jude posed in a gray suit. Keira popped up overseas after spending much of the Summer in NYC with her fiancé, James Righton. When she wasn't busy strolling the city streets with James, Keira filmed Can a Song Save Your Life? with costars Mark Ruffalo and Adam Levine. Keira's already lined up yet another project — she'll star opposite Chris Pine in the upcoming Jack Ryan. The movie may take Keira back to the Big Apple since production recently started there for Chris.
First Look! Banana Republic Holiday '12 Taps Into the Moody Elegance of Anna Karenina
Inspired by the upcoming film Anna Karenina and its Leo Tolstoy novel predecessor, Banana Republic's Holiday 2012 collection, styled by the film's costume designer, Jacqueline Durran, is a modern-day interpretation of the tragic 19th-century Russian romance. The line highlighted the era's moody elegance and polished luxury. Look to the rich textures (brocade mixed with lace and chiffon) and even richer hues (think crimson reds, husky burgundy, and deep merlots) for instant evidence of the line's meticulous attention to costume drama elevated to contemporary standards. "The fur cossack hats on the mannequins are actually scarves — pieces like that are functional for cold weather but beautiful to wear," said Simon Kneen, Banana Republic's creative director. "I do love the chiffon dress with lace tights. I can easily picture Keira [Knightley, the movie's leading starlet] in it, too." Take a closer look at Banana Republic's 56-piece Anna Karenina capsule collection, as well as the retailer's complete holiday lineup, all available in late October, inside.

Anna Karenina Trailer: Keira Knightley Takes on a Dangerous Affair
You would think Keira Knightley would be sick of period pieces after movies like Pride and Prejudice and Atonement, but the actress has teamed up with director Joe Wright yet again for Anna Karenina. Taking place in the high-society circles of 19th-century Russia, Leo Tolstoy's novel tells the story of a young girl who has a scandalous affair with a count (Aaron Johnson), despite being married to government official Alexei Karenina (Jude Law).
Though it feels like we've seen Knightley in roles like this a million times before, why fix it if it ain't broken? She seems like a great fit for Anna and I didn't even recognize Johnson as a blond. As expected, the costumes look beautiful but the imagery depicting the elegance of the parties (I didn't know they had indoor skating rinks in the 1800s) is even more fantastic. The movie is set for release on Nov. 9, but check out the trailer after the jump.
Keira Knightley and Jude Law Take on Tolstoy
There's been rumors of a big-screen adaptation of Anna Karenina flying around for awhile, but now it's official. Focus Features is taking on Tolstoy's iconic novel, with Keira Knightley and Jude Law set to star. The movie will be directed by Joe Wright, who previously worked with Knightley on Atonement and Pride and Prejudice; Tom Stoppard, the Oscar-winning scribe behind Shakespeare in Love, wrote the screenplay. This sounds like a team made in filmmaking heaven, so it sounds like the iconic story is in very capable hands. Fans of the book — how do you feel about the way the movie is coming together?
