Aaron Eckhart and Angela Bassett both star in Olympus Has Fallen, as the president and a Secret Service Agent, respectively. I recently sat down to talk with the pair about making the film and Bassett's trip to the real White House. Check it out!
Emily, John, Ben, and Jessica Lead the Way at National Board of Review
Emily Blunt wore a sexy cutout Emilio Pucci gown that helped show off her fresh-from-Mexico tan alongside husband John Krasinski at the National Board of Review Awards in NYC last night. Anne Hathaway picked a black suit for the occasion, while Jessica Chastain's dark look had a gold-embellished neckline. Ben Affleck also stepped out to support Argo at the first of a number of award-season events this week. Also joining the esteemed crowd was a guest list that included Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Angela Bassett, Bradley Cooper, and more.
Much of the crew will head toward the West Coast for today's People's Choice Awards, tomorrow's Critics' Choice Awards, and Sunday's Golden Globes. The Oscar nominations also come out on tomorrow morning!
We'll be LIVE at all the events — check out our POPSUGAR LIVE calendar for the week, and join us to kick off all the award-season fun!
Love It or Hate It: Leading Ladies at the NAACP Image Awards
Hopefully you've already voted on all your favorite hair and makeup looks from this weekend's NAACP Image Awards — and now it's time to weigh in on who had the most fab dress of the evening. It was a night of moody blues and bold brights, where the Old Guard — Halle, Angela, Vanessa — shook things up and looked just as sexy as their up-and-coming counterparts. Click through to cast your vote for each gorgeous gal on the red carpet.
Love It or Hate It: Stars at the NAACP Image Awards
The NAACP Image Awards are always a great show for pretty hair and makeup, but the 2011 awards were lovelier than ever. Ready to see who rocked the red carpet? Then check these stars out and vote.
The Green Hornet vs. Green Lantern: How to Tell the Difference
It's just a weird, funny coincidence that two comic-book-hero movies are headed to theaters in 2011, both with the word "green" in the title: Green Lantern and The Green Hornet. The name similarity makes it very easy to confuse them, even for a pop culture know-it-all like myself. The Green Hornet (that would be the Seth Rogen one) opens this weekend, but if you're still confusing it with the Ryan Reynolds vehicle, I've put together a handy-dandy guide to help you keep the two films separate.
NPH Hosts the Star-Studded TV Land Awards
Neil Patrick Harris played captain at last night's TV Land Awards in LA, bringing together stars for yet another night to celebrate classic television. Amy Poehler and Will Ferrell were just two of the comedic actors who helped liven up the evening along with stars like Teri Hatcher, who also made time to attend Saturday's attending the GLAAD Awards. Matthew McConaughey wore his award show uniform after spending Saturday promoting Ghosts of Girlfriends Past with Jennifer Garner, joking with the press about marriage and raising kids in Hollywood. The awards show won't air until April 26, but it looks like it has the potential for a lot of laughs with the fun group of celebrities who attended.

Less Is More or More Is More?
Whether we love it or hate it in the end, it's great to see celebrities take risks with their looks. I've gathered some contrasting photos where one beauty detail is more exaggerated or less exaggerated in each picture. To make it fair, I'm only comparing the same celebrity with herself – so get started and let me know if you like a big impact or a more subtle look.
Notorious: A Star Is Born Playing a Tragic Figure
Notorious is a biopic based on the life and times of music legend Christopher Wallace, a.k.a Notorious B.I.G., who was tragically killed in his early 20s in a drive-by shooting. It comes extremely close to telling an interesting story about the measure of a man and the price of fame — close, but no cigar.

That said, there is a silver lining and that's the discovery of an artist named Jamal Woolard (also known as Gravy) who plays the title role. This relative unknown (in the acting community, he's a hip hop artist), who had zero acting experience before this production, delivers the kind of charismatic, slam-dunk performance only someone with a natural gift can deliver. His is a nuanced performance that manages to bring to earth the larger-than-life persona of Biggie with eerie accuracy. Physically, we rarely see an actor like this on the big screen and it's refreshing. Woolard uses his sympathetic eyes and giant body to convey the rapper's ability to draw people to him, despite how exasperating he could be.
Unfortunately, Woolard is the bright spot in this cookie-cutter biopic, which too often veers into sentimental and blandly conventional territory. To see the rest of my thoughts on why this is a bit disappointing, read more
2009 Critics' Choice Awards: Angela Bassett
Longtime readers know how much I love Angela Bassett, especially because she can wear ladylike styles with the best of 'em. At the Critics' Choice Awards, she proves that you don't need to be 21 years old to pull off a bold eye shadow color. This lilac shade stands out but isn't garish, pulling attention to her eyes while remaining elegant. At least, that's my take on it. Do you like this look, or do you prefer something more subdued?
