Was the Right Contestant Voted Off American Idol?

With only six left in the American Idol competition, the elimination rounds are getting more exciting than ever.

With only six left in the American Idol competition, the elimination rounds are getting more exciting than ever. The girls managed to stick it out for another week (which is a huge testament to Haley who spent her fair share of time in the bottom three earlier this season). It was no surprise either that James scooted on to the next round, after the judges practically declared him the winner on Wednesday night. That left Jacob, Scotty, and Casey in the lurch. Once Jacob was ushered to safety, Ryan announced that Casey was going home — and this time, there was no lifesaver to give him another chance. Do you agree with this week's elimination?

With only seven left in the competition, we're starting to get to the good stuff on American Idol.

With only seven left in the competition, we're starting to get to the good stuff on American Idol. The judges provided more negative feedback than usual this week, which made the bottom contestants a bit easier to predict. I wasn't surprised to see Jacob sent to the stools, since his performance started off a bit shaky, and Stefano has been in trouble for weeks now. In the end, Stefano's dancing skills couldn't save him and he was sent packing. Do you agree with America's decision?

Well, tonight's American Idol results show was a shocker and a half. When the lights were dimmed, Pia Toscano and Jacob Lusk were in the bottom three for the first time, along with Stefano Langone, who had been there before. I admittedly was expecting Stefano to say goodbye, but my jaw dropped when Ryan sent Pia home. Pia was one of the strongest competitors out there, and I thought there was a good chance she would take home the crown. Even the judges looked horrified and said that America got it wrong, which makes me wonder whether or not they regret using the save on Casey. What's your take — did Pia deserve to get voted off?

It was a double whammy on American Idol tonight as not one, but two contestants were sent packing following Casey Abrams's save on last week's show.

It was a double whammy on American Idol tonight as not one, but two contestants were sent packing following Casey Abrams's save on last week's show. Apparently Casey's near exit was a wake-up call to America, as he was safe this time, but Naima Adedapo, Thia Megia, and Paul McDonald were sent to the bottom three. More than 55 million people voted this week — a new record for the show! — and in the end, it was Thia and Naima who said goodbye.

With the one save of the season gone, the two girls didn't have the opportunity for a last-chance performance, so they just held hands and looked on as their tribute video ran in the final minutes of the night. I wasn't surprised to see either of them go since both have been in bottom before, but do you think voters made the right call?

American Idol: Did the Judges Make the Right Decision?

Wow! This week's American Idol elimination night wasn't shocking because of who went home — it was shocking because no one did.

Wow! This week's American Idol elimination night wasn't shocking because of who went home — it was shocking because no one did. Casey Abrams, Stefano Langone, and Thia Megia found themselves in the bottom three after Motown night, and surprisingly, it was Casey with the lowest amount of votes. But Casey didn't have to sweat for very long: when he was brought out to sing for his life, Randy interrupted his song to tell him that the judges were saving him, and the guy nearly had a nervous breakdown.

With Casey still in the game, no one was kicked off, which means that next week's elimination will be ultra-dramatic because two people will have to go home. Making Casey's bailout even more controversial is the fact that this is the earliest point in any season that the judges have used their save. So, with that in mind, vote now — did the judges make the right call in keeping Casey?

It was a night of few surprises on this week's American Idol elimination episode.

It was a night of few surprises on this week's American Idol elimination episode. Once again, the bottom three spots were filled by the ladies, with Naima joining Karen and Haley, who were on the chopping block last week. Haley and Naima were spared, while Karen gave it one last chance with Mariah Carey's "Hero." Personally I think Karen was better than Haley this week, but it was Karen who went home at the end of the night. Do you think America made the right decision?

America, we're heading to the finals!

America, we're heading to the finals! Casey James was eliminated from American Idol last night, leaving just Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze to duke it out for the crown next week. I've always been a fan of Casey's, but I predicted the top two weeks back, and sadly knew it was only a matter of time for Kara's favorite eye candy. Though I'm looking forward to the final showdown, I have to admit that I'll miss Casey. Do you think it was his time to get the boot?

Michael Lynche may have sealed his fate on Tuesday night when he admitted that he was only focused on getting to the top 3: his American Idol time ran out when he was eliminated from the competition last night.

Michael Lynche may have sealed his fate on Tuesday night when he admitted that he was only focused on getting to the top 3: his American Idol time ran out when he was eliminated from the competition last night. I've got to hand it to the guy — he made it through four more rounds after the judges gave him the save back in April.

Still, his elimination seems timely to me; I never really saw him in the final two. He even said on Tuesday night that he wasn't quite focused on winning the competition just yet. Before we take that next step into the Idol home stretch, weigh in: was it time for Big Mike to go?

And then there were four.

And then there were four. On last night's American Idol, Aaron Kelly was sent packing despite decent comments from the judges on Tuesday night. It just goes to show that the competition is really in America's hands at this point — I totally expected Crystal or Casey to be on the chopping block after giving mediocre performances this week. That said, I never saw Aaron taking it to the finals. What's your take — did Aaron deserve to get the boot?

Though Siobhan Magnus gave her best performance in weeks during her Shania Twain performance on Tuesday night, she was eliminated from the competition this week.

Though Siobhan Magnus gave her best performance in weeks during her Shania Twain performance on Tuesday night, she was eliminated from the competition this week. I have to admit I was a little shocked by the decision, especially since the judges gave her pretty decent feedback. The competition is really heating up now, with only five contestants remaining. So, what's your take — was Siobhan's time up?
