Johnny Depp took the stage at the Staples Center to accompany Aerosmith for a few songs during their LA show last night. He showed off his guitar skills alongside pal Steven Tyler. Johnny and Steven's collaborations were memorialized on Aerosmith's latest album, last month's Music From Another Dimension!, which included backup vocals from Johnny.

Johnny hasn't been shy about getting in front of concertgoers recently — last Thursday, Johnny joined Alice Cooper for several songs during his show too! Johnny's using his downtime to focus on music after finishing up filming his latest project, The Lone Ranger, set for release in the Summer of 2013.

Buzz Time Machine: Britney Spears, *NSYNC, and Aerosmith's Super Bowl Halftime Show

The Super Bowl has had several unforgettable halftime shows over the years, but 2001 may have been one of the most star-studded spectacles we've ever seen on the football field.

The Super Bowl has had several unforgettable halftime shows over the years, but 2001 may have been one of the most star-studded spectacles we've ever seen on the football field. Even ten years later, I still remember watching "Walk This Way" as Aerosmith, *NSYNC, Nelly, Mary J. Blige, and Britney Spears (sporting a tube sock arm band) sang together.

For this week's Buzz Time Machine, take a look back at the special performance. Bonus: there's a funny intro from Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, and Chris Rock. Think the Black Eyed Peas will be able to top this on Sunday? Watch the video after the jump.

It's Official: Steven Tyler Is Out of Aerosmith

Joe Perry has taken to his Twitter account to break the news that Aerosmith is looking for a new lead singer.

Joe Perry has taken to his Twitter account to break the news that Aerosmith is looking for a new lead singer. Steven Tyler has apparently dropped out amid rumors that he's looking for a solo career — which the front man alluded to himself in an interview earlier this year. Perry assured fans that the band is not breaking up tweeting, "You just can't take 40 years of expiriance and throwitinthebin!"

I'm sure I echo most people's sentiments when I say this is a sad day in rock 'n' roll. I feel like the group should call it quits, because I can't imagine anyone replacing Tyler's swagger. Joe Perry has done solo projects before, but when it comes to Aerosmith, he and Tyler have always been a package deal in my mind. Although, perhaps I'm being too pessimistic — after all, Van Halen did go on to have a successful run when Sammy Hagar took over for David Lee Roth.

Do you think Aerosmith can (or should) go on without Tyler? Can you name a worthy substitute?

FABTV: Aerosmith "Crazy"

I blame this music video for being 10 minutes late to work the other day.

I blame this music video for being 10 minutes late to work the other day. But it's so fun, how can one refuse it? Plus, Liv Tyler has been out and about promoting her new projects so Liv is on my brain. I loved this era of Aerosmith videos and the rebellious stories they portrayed. This is a classic Catholic school girls gone wild story, and Alicia and Liv tell it very well. From road tripping to stealing to stripping, isn't this what we all wanted to break free and do as teenagers? I also wanted to meet a hot tractor boy, go skinny dipping and steal his clothes. Crazy times.
