Natalie Portman Talks Loving SNL Black Swan Spoof and "Calm" Pregnancy in Critics' Choice Press Room

Natalie Portman took home the best actress honors at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards and in the press room her red carpet glow was still radiating her amazing glow. She was one of Fab's best dressed and her updo completed the look. This may be a good predictor of Sunday's Golden Globes where she's once again nominated for her amazing work in Black Swan. Check out the full list of this evening's winners and here's what Natalie had to say about her character, her pregnancy, and all the Black Swan spoofs:

  • On parallels between the Black Swan dancing world and the acting world: "I think one of the interesting things, and because I started so young acting, you get used to seeing yourself out of your body. I think dancers have that a lot with all the mirrors. They're used to seeing the reflection of themselves rather than being themselves. I think that happened to the character a lot where she sees herself out of her body in her life. It's a struggle as an actor to remain rooted and anchored to yourself while being so aware of what you look like to other people."
  • On Black Swan spoofs during the show, on SNL and 30 Rock: "I think it's so funny. I actually think one of the most fun things about this whole process has been seeing the sort of humor out of all of it with 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live. It's the greatest tribute you can have, to be easily mockable."
  • On her pregnancy: "I feel great. I'm through my first trimester so it's been really calm and good. I feel extraordinarily lucky."

    Jesse Eisenberg

Jesse Eisenberg Takes the Lead For Social Network Cast in Critics' Choice Press Room

The Social Network took home the top honors at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards, and the whole crew came back to the press room to chat about their big win.

The Social Network took home the top honors at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards, and the whole crew came back to the press room to chat about their big win. This may be a sign of things to come this award season, and we think they have a good chance of snagging statues at Sunday's Golden Globes. Jesse Eisenberg fielded all the questions during the brief interview, though Andrew Garfield was the subject of many glowing words from his Spider-Man costar Emma Stone earlier in the evening. Check out the full list of winners, and here's what Jesse had to say in the press room:

    • Jesse on how life has changed since being cast in The Social Network: "Well, as soon as I was cast, I filmed the movie and that was the first big change. It's just been an overwhelming experience to be involved with something that has been received so amicably, not only by people who like movies, but by people who appreciate things that are culturally substantive."
    • On encountering the script for the first time: "I think like everybody, when I opened the first 15 pages of the script, we were surprised to see that the same scene was continuing on, page after page, because that's very rare. We were surprised to see how exciting that was."

    Matt Damon

If Matt Damon Makes Another Bourne, He Wants to Do It Right

Matt Damon took the stage at tonight's Critics' Choice to accept the Joel Siegel Award for his work with Water.org.

Matt Damon took the stage at tonight's Critics' Choice to accept the Joel Siegel Award for his work with Water.org. On stage he spoke passionately about the organization, though not without complimenting his one presenter, The Adjustment Bureau costar Emily Blunt and taking a swipe at his other, Jimmy Kimmel. In the press room, Matt continued to talk up the charity so close to his heart, but he also revealed his current feelings on the future of Jason Bourne. As he left the room, a reporter threw out a question about Sunday's New England Patriots playoff game, and Matt responded, "The Pats are gonna crush the Jets!" before heading back into the show. Here's more from the press room:

    • On the possibility of another Bourne: "I really hope it's gonna happen. It's really up to Paul Greengrass, the director. I always said I wouldn't do it without him. I think it would be a bad idea to do it without Paul. He's probably going to do one or two other films that he's got cooking, but then after that. I think enough time has passed that it won't matter if we wait five more years and do it. We just want to make sure that if we do it, we do it right. There's been a lot of pressure for us to do it, obviously, because it's successful. But that's that moment that you have to step back and make sure you make it for the right reasons. When we feel like it's the right time, I think Paul will be open to doing it."
    • On what makes Water.org a compelling cause: For me, it's actually that I see that when these things are implemented, the kind of effect that they have. That's a great story to be able to bring back. That is what gives me an optimism about it. That's what Americans respond to — if you actually can come back with a demonstration that something is working, people will get involved. Hopefully as we get that method down more, we'll get a groundswell of support.
    • On the one role that changed his life: Well, the role that changed things the most was Good Will Hunting, I think for Ben [Affleck] and me. We wrote it and so that obviously had the single biggest impact of any one role.

    Emma Stone

Emma Stone Gushes About "Talented, Intelligent, Intuitive" Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man in CCMA Press Room!

Emma Stone posed with the Critics' Choice Award winner for best young actor, True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld, backstage during the show before the Easy A star stepped into the press room to celebrate their best comedy win.

Emma Stone posed with the Critics' Choice Award winner for best young actor, True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld, backstage during the show before the Easy A star stepped into the press room to celebrate their best comedy win. She looked hot in her Balenciaga dress but passed off all the credit for her look to her "great stylist" and accepted compliments on her bright blond hair. The locks are for her role in Spider-Man, and just yesterday we got our first look at sexy Andrew Garfield in the iconic suit. When asked what makes him a great Peter Parker/Spider-Man, she couldn't gush enough about her leading man. She said:

Lots. He's incredibly talented and intelligent and intuitive. It means so much to him to be playing this part and just get to walk in Peter Parker's shoes. He's really just giving it his all and I've never seen anything like it . . . He's one of the best, not just Spider-Men, but actors I've ever met . . . A lot of times you dream about things and they pale in comparison when you actually do them, but it's better.
