Buzz In: What Are Your Oscar Hopes and Dreams?

Yes, the 82nd Academy Awards finally air tonight, and we'll learn who the winners of each category are.

Yes, the 82nd Academy Awards finally air tonight, and we'll learn who the winners of each category are. We've all been making our own predictions for the victors (see all of mine here), and while many of the categories already seem decided, it doesn't mean we don't have our own hopes.

I'm personally wishing for some surprises — I mean, won't it be boring if everyone who's projected to win actually does win? I have my eye on a few dark horses (Inglourious Basterds, An Education) that I hope take something home. The likely winners I want to see fulfill their destiny? Kathryn Bigelow for best director of The Hurt Locker, Up for best animated film, and The Cove for best documentary. So tell me, movie lovers, what are your hopes for the 2010 Oscars?

Would You Like to See Shia Go to the Oscars With Carey?

Shia LaBeouf picked up food at an LA grocery store yesterday afternoon, looking rather calm before his girlfriend Carey Mulligan's exciting coming weekend. She's nominated for her very first Oscar due to her work in An Education, and so far she's made the red carpet rounds solo this award season. We're holding out hope for one side-by-side appearance from the adorable PDA-loving couple, but Shia may not want to steal Carey's big moment. So, tell us what you think — would you like to see Shia go to the Academy Awards with Carey?
