There have been peanuts for Jericho, Mars bars for Veronica Mars, and footballs for Friday Night Lights. Now, Reaper is joining the ranks of floundering shows with an anxious fanbase ready to send hundreds of the same kind of item in the mail to studio executives in an effort to prove how much the show means to them. This time, it's socks, a reference to the hilarious character of Sock on the show, played by Tyler Labine.
According to the official Bret Harrison website, Krakoom, it is imperative that all Reaper fans inundate the folks at CW with professions of love for the show — via phone, email, letter, or soft foot garments. The urgency to get this effort going was spurred on by a recent LA Times article that declared Reaper's future to be "on the bubble." The show's producers and creators believe it would be "foolish" of the CW not to pick up Reaper for another season, especially since it's not like they're competing with the network's most popular series, Gossip Girl, or even with Gossip Girl's audience.
Executive producer Tom Spezialy acknowledges that it took a little while for the show to hit its stride, but now he feels that they're on a roll, and they can already envision several seasons down the line. He said the show is such "a blend of black comedy and horror — and just traditional character comedy and some legitimate drama, we hope — that's it's hard to find the tone in a language that everyone understands."
We won't know Reaper's fate until May 13 when the network announces their schedule, so in the meantime, if you're so inclined, put some socks in the mail.
Spring is truly here! That means I'll be seeing some big-time movies, reading sweet books, and listening to good tunes as I enjoy all the freshly blooming flowers. In addition to these picks for May entertainment, everyone will be talking about Scarlett Johansson's Anywhere I Lay My Head album when it drops on May 20th, not to mention the finale of American Idol that same week. ABC brought back its Thursday lineup a week ago, but it's tonight that two of the network's shows — Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy — are really making their presence felt. Both have great guest stars lined up to build some momentum as we roll toward the all-too-soon season finales.
First up, Ugly Betty hosts Project Runway's famously faux-hawked, famously satired fourth-season winner, Christian Siriano. The designer appears as himself, a hot new designer whom the Mode staff is trying to woo for a fashion spread — complete with designs that ProjRun fans will likely recognize from his collection. Runway judge Nina Garcia will appear as well.
But the one I'm really excited for is the return of Kate Walsh as Addison on Grey's. I thought Addie lost most of her sparkle, charm, and cojones when she moved down the West Coast to that Private Practice of hers, and I hope that her return to Seattle Grace puts her kickass side back in the spotlight. (Hey, maybe the writers will remember how to do that, and then apply it to PP when it returns in the Fall.) Oh yeah, and Elizabeth Reaser (Rebecca/Jane Doe/Ava) is back to deliver some news to Alex — but I'm too fixated on what fun Addison antics will ensue to give that much thought.

Seems like it was just yesterday folks were confirming that the Sex and the City movie had been greenlit, and now there are mere weeks until it hits theaters. Recently, I've overheard people reluctantly admit that they haven't really watched the show, and it inspired me to put together a list of quintessential episodes for anyone looking to catch up on the ladies' saucy relationships and touching friendships before the movie hits theaters May 30.
These episodes are meant to be in addition to the series premiere (remember when Carrie would break away and talk straight to camera, not unlike Zack Morris on Saved By the Bell?) and the finale. To check out which episodes I chose and to tell me what you'd add, hit "Start."

Jenna Dewan walked down the street in Beverly Hills looking extremely chic and poised. Her structured white blazer framed her body perfectly, and paired well over her draped fringe Haute Hippie halter, denim leggings, and over-the-knee brown boots.
