After the eerie, mysterious first episode of the two-part season finale of House, I am more than ready to find out what the heck's going on for real here. Many of you were pleased with last week's Part One of the finale, so hopefully tonight's will be just as gripping, and a satisfying way to sign off for the House-less summer.

According to the description for tonight's episode, "House remains inhibited by injuries sustained from a bus accident that has also left a victim rapidly deteriorating from a mysterious condition. Clues inside House's head hold the key to a patient's condition, and House's friendship with Wilson is tested beyond limits as murky memories from the bus accident the night before threaten to change their lives forever." The preview for tonight already gives me chills. To check it out for yourself before tuning in tonight at 9:00, read more

"You wanna live in the zip. . . you gotta live by the code."
Yup, that's the super cheesarific tag line at the end of this new promo video for the CW's resurrection/retooling of 90210 (which just found a dad in former Melrose Place guy Rob Estes). The beginning of the promo made me howl with laughter as the classic theme music starts up again and the new kids basically reenact parts of the original 90210 intro. This quickly ends, though, and we launch into the little interviews with the cast of the show.
The most bizarre part of all is seeing Jessica Walter in this setting, since she will always and forever and ever be Lucille Bluth from Arrested Development in my eyes. I hope she gets to provide a lot of the funny lines in this show.

Right on the heels of starring in the No. 1 movie at the box office, Ben Barnes has landed another gig — and it's a doozy. The adorable Prince Caspian will play the title character in a film adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Oliver Parker is "planning to make a visceral, dark horror story and says the themes of stardom are as relevant as ever."
That was my immediate thought as well, that the book's themes of vanity and the desire for everlasting youth and beauty seem to be incredibly relevant to today's world (especially in American society, though Dorian Gray does not take place in America). I had to read this novel in college and I'm so glad I did. It's a riveting — and often scary — read. If you haven't read it, this is the plot description: "Dorian Gray is a young man of impossible physical beauty whose portrait — painted by the artist Basil Hallward — becomes connected on an occult level with the workings of his soul. Drawn into a corrupt and sensual life by the dissolute Lord Henry Wotton, Dorian remains young and beautiful, while the painting ages in his stead, ultimately becoming a monstrosity."
Have you read this work by Oscar Wilde? What do you think of this movie news?

Wow, that was a lot of juicy Desperate Housewives! Two hours is a ton of any show, but when it's DH, there's just so much that goes on between the revealed secrets and sentimental conversations and plot twists — phew! What a way to end the season though, eh? I enjoyed most of the two hours but those final few moments when we glimpse the future. . . wow. I loved that.

I was totally satisfied with this season finale, as it was like classic DH (drama, humor, violence, redemption, hope, etc.) with a little something new tossed in (flash-forward). Yeah, it's not totally original (hello, Lost) but I think it spiced things up a bit and definitely got people talking! To check out more about this week's DH finale, read more

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian handily won the top stop at the box office over the weekend, though it failed to bring in as much as the first Narnia film did in 2005.
In the "yikes" department, Speed Racer (already struggling at the box office) dropped from third place to fourth, only earning an estimated $7.6 million this weekend. Iron Man continued to set records, holding strong at second place while What Happens in Vegas took third. In fact, Iron Man was the first film to earn over $200 million at the domestic box office this year, according to Variety. Baby Mama closed out the top five.
