Well, July may not be the biggest book release time of the year (go figure), and it's a little weak on the music, too — but there are still plenty of entertainment options capturing my attention this month. My must haves include Summer escapism in an air-conditioned movie theater, an interesting read, a trip to the '60s, and one musical beacon whose new album has me excited. To see my picks for July, hit "Start."

Late last week, Katy Perry scored a milestone: Her single, "I Kissed a Girl," jumped to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the 1,000th No. 1 hit of the rock era (aka since the release of "Rock Around the Clock" in 1955).
However, catchy as Perry's song might be, hers isn't the "I Kissed a Girl" that I tend to get stuck in my head. No, that would be Jill Sobule's 1995 hit of the same name, which came complete with adorable, candy-colored, suburb-satirizing music video.
Despite fielding lots of e-mails from annoyed fans, Sobule herself says she appreciates Perry's track as "a catchy party song." What about you? Which "I Kissed a Girl" would you rather have on constant rotation?
Since I'm so happy about Amy Ryan coming back to The Office, I figured it's a good time to pass along some other Office-related goodies. The show's cast is back this Summer for another round of webisodes — the first round won them an Emmy — and the first sneak peek has hit the Web.
The first webisode features Kevin and Darryl teaming up to launch a fairly fraudulent business venture, and while the brief clip leaves something to be desired, it's just good to see those two very funny characters have a chance to interact. The better teaser, though, is the behind-the-scenes video that shows various cast members talking about the webisodes; it includes brief glimpses at several of the works in progress.
The webisodes start July 10. Will you check them out? For now, you can watch the behind-the-scenes clip as well as the outtake from the first webisode if you read more
