It feels like only yesterday we were congratulating Whitney on becoming the first plus-sized winner of America's Next Top Model. But the "cycles" of the Tyra Banks show just keep on going, and today brings our first glimpse of the 14 women who will start vying to be America's next Next Top Model on Sept. 3.
The show begins that day with a two-hour premiere, where we'll be introduced to the models of cycle 11. But why wait? To see Bella's predictions for makeover day, head over here, and to meet the models, just hit "Start."
To honor the 60th anniversary of the Emmys this September, the producers are planning to have stars recite some classic TV lines from the past six decades during the awards broadcast. The lines include "Live long and prosper" and "Good night, John Boy," and Ricky Gervais, Alec Baldwin, and Doris Roberts are among the stars on board.
That got me thinking about what classic lines I'd like to see included. News of the Hawaii Five-O remake makes me think "Book 'em, Danno" deserves a spot, and I'd throw Knight Rider's "Hello, Michael" in there, too. I'd love for some more modern lines to make it into the show, too, like some of my favorite TV catchphrases. In particular, I think I could die happy if Steve Carell walked up to the microphone, said "That's what she said," and then calmly walked offstage.
What are some classic TV quotes that you think deserve a turn in the Emmy spotlight?
Tuesdays are big in entertainmentville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. Here are today's selections:
Idol voice: Despite that goofy-looking picture and the fact that this isn't necessarily my favorite type of music, David Archuleta's first post-Idol single, "Crush" isn't half bad. I could imagine a me in another universe wistfully looking out over the ocean on a beach, thinking of that special someone with this tune blazing in my earphones.
Futuristic R&B: If David A. is a bit too saccharine for your taste, check out this super-weird, super-awesome album from Janelle Monae. You may know this artist from OutKast's movie soundtrack for Idlewild. Take a listen to the fun and funky track "Many Moons." I'm also enjoying her surreal cover of the standard "Smile."
One more selection that stood out to me this week, so read more
Singer and actress Selena Gomez posed for pictures at the 2009 American Music Awards with a pretty pink smile on her face. She took advantage of the occasion and went glam; wearing a Talbot Runhof sequin dress with black strappy heels.
