When I traveled to Napa to attend the premiere of Bottle Shock, one of the stars I was most excited to speak with was Gio! Freddy Rodriguez. I've always admired his work on shows like Six Feet Under and of course Ugly Betty, and I'm excited to see that he'll still take part in an independent movie now and again.
His character in the movie, Gustavo Brambila, is a person in real life, and Rodriguez appeared to have a good relationship with him at the premiere. Gustavo is supposed to have an incredible palate and winemaking abilities, and though he's portrayed as an intense dude in the movie, Rodriguez told me he's actually very shy in person.

The female friendship movie is a totally different animal than the romantic comedy, and yet they often get lumped together under one big "chick flick" banner. Recent Summers have been heavy on the bromances (see Superbad, Knocked Up, Step Brothers, Pineapple Express, etc.) so I thought it would be fun to take a moment to remember some of the best (girl-mances? lady-mances?) girlfriend movies in honor of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 opening this week. To see my selections hit "Start".
We've seen the final four So You Think You Can Dance dancers put it all on the line in Wednesday's two-hour marathon performance episode. Now, all that's left is the speculation for how the voting will shake out. I'll be back with my take later on today, but for now, which dancer do you think has earned the title of America's favorite?

I'm usually supportive and even awed when fans rise up to try to save a little-watched show they love. It's especially nice when the show is dear to my own heart (Friday Night Lights) or involves a seriously overwhelming amount of peanuts (Jericho). But I must be getting "Save Our Show" fatigue, because this campaign to save The Mole is just doing nothing for me. Maybe it's because I don't have any strong feelings about The Mole one way or another, but instead of feeling all "Yeah, you tell the networks who's boss!" about it, my reaction is more like "Nice thought, but it's never gonna work."
How are the rest of you feeling about "Save Our Show" campaigns these days? Are they a touching gesture on behalf of great shows, or are they just a waste of everyone's time?
