This year, nothing got us buzzing quite like a good list. Want to debate the best documentaries, TV icons, indie rock albums, or memorable TV moms and daughters of all time? BuzzSugar was the place. I wanted to revisit some of my favorite debates; go back and weigh in, if you haven't already!
I said it back in May, and it's still true as the year winds down: Judd Apatow is everywhere. The man whom the Los Angeles Times named "the mayor of comedy" had two of the Summer movie season's biggest hits, signed on for several more highly anticipated projects, had a New York Times Magazine cover story all about him, and generally became a household name — not bad for a self-described schlub in an unglamorous polo shirt. Want to reminisce about Apatow's big year? Just hit start.
I recently shared with you my 2007 mix of general songs that I loved, a kind of soundtrack to my year. Now I've rounded up some actual soundtrack songs from TV shows and movies that stood out enough for me to track them down after turning off the TV or leaving the movie theater. Thus, if my entertainment-related experiences had a soundtrack this year, this mix is basically what it would look like.
Some are oldies I already knew but loved in a whole new way, like "Knock On Wood" from Talk to Me. Others I hadn't heard and they compelled me to seek out more music by the artist, as happened with The Pierces' song "Three Wishes," used in Gossip Girl.
